We started out by arriving early and stashing our luggage and going into the onsite restaurant where we met Mitch. He was great to joke with and did an awesome job throughout our stay. He had a coworker John that also did good by our group throughout the stay. The rooms were clean and had a great view of the entire beach. Sunrise right from the balcony and a front row seat for the fireworks down by the boardwalk. Although the rooms are a bit dated it wasn’t a deal breaker because of the staff and cleanliness. We were greeted with smiles every time we went through the lobby. The breakfast area was nice and the food was reliably familiar for a Hampton which was nice given it was right on the beach. The area is quiet and has a small Walmart nearly next door. The location was quiet and that was a blessing. We would stay here again.

My husband and I just left a stay and it was fine. We have stayed here at least twice a year for the past 10 years. In fact this was our third stay in the past 6 months. In the beginning everything was amazing and now it’s just enough. It’s still clean but the breakfast area was continually out of food, the new restaurant has a weird odor and several of the front desk staff, specifically John were just downright rude. It seems like since the recent renovations things are slowly going down hill. What once was homey and friendly is now businesslike and cold.

I’m very upset. I just used all my points to stay at the Hampton in Myrtle beach. I was doing it because it wasn’t going to cost me anything. I got a receipt saying my bill was $171.19. I have stayed at Hamptons for years all over. I have even stayed at this one for over 20 years. I have never been charged for parking or for a service pet. I’m very disappointed with this change. It cost me money I don’t have to spend at the moment. Then after I complain to Hampton they charge me another $50 a week after I left saying I didn’t return pool towels. I put all pool towels in return beside where you get towels. $75 Parking fee for 2 nights $75 Non refundable pet fee. $50 Towel fee

Where to start… Got into room and the stench (smelled like strong pee) was horrible. We opened the patio doors to try to let it air out and turned the air conditioning down. It started getting better so we closed the doors and left for the night. We had to keep the air conditioning no higher than 68 or the smell would come back. So many dogs and barking day and night, didn’t find out (not on website) that dogs were only allowed in South Tower. We could have stayed at the North Tower if we had known. They told me at registration as a dog was peeing and pooping on the floor right there). I woke up every night coughing, don’t know if it was because of air conditioning or dog dander. When I told evening attendant after showing him the huge amount of dirt I wiped from unit he didn’t seem to care at all that I was coughing. The air conditioning was causing the carpet to become soaked and we let them know several times. We put towels down every day to help sop it up. We also had to tweak the toilet flush float throughout our stay. The final yucky straw was as I was putting suitcases in car housekeeping came in elevator coughing and said having a summer cold was horrible. So now praying I don’t get sick. We’ve stayed on this property probably 10 times throughout the years but never again.

The room and oceanfront balcony were amazing! The room was clean, and beds were comfortable. The pools were wonderful. There was a DJ Friday and Saturday playing (We were not there Sunday, so I don't know if a dj is there that day). There is a bar and food outside too. A one minute walk to the beach. The magic of this place I I found all age groups enjoying the music, sun, pools, and drinks. I felt so comfortable being genx! People from all the country were talking and hanging out. It.was.beautiful. The breakfast is decent. They need to work on the texture of the sausage, though, because it was mushy. The Reel restaurant is really good. We will be back!
