John worked at the front desk and upgraded my room to oceanview. He was awesome. Reel restaurant had good food, the hot food buffet and 24 hr coffee was good and convenient, and I thought the pool, jacuzzi, and lazy river were cool. The beach was beautiful. Easy uber ride. My only complaint is that there was black mold on the ceiling, but otherwise I really enjoyed my stay.

When we first checked in, I was a little worried because everyone was getting refunds due to the elevators not working. Some people were on the 12th floor and having to take luggage and kids up and down etc. However, luckily we were in the South tower, on the 2nd floor and the elevators were working. The receptionist who was an employee from the other Hampton Inn (bearfoot landing) was amazing. She had people coming and yelling at her, demanding refunds etc. and she handled it well. Now, the other receptionist that was there the next day, Ian, he is extremely rude and doesn’t need to be the first person to greet you with such a nasty attitude. Anyways, We had 2 connecting rooms. The rooms were very clean. We had a king with a shower/tub as well as a walk in shower, a kitchen and small dining area. Our other room was 2 queens and a regular bathroom. Both rooms were ocean front. Beds were comfortable. No complaints there. Now, the pool area is where I had a problem. The pools were very dirty. The pools had a greasy film over it and lots of trash and debris in the pool. The only reason I didn’t make too big of a deal about it is because it was a little chilly anyways and it’s still spring so maybe they didn’t expect people to actually get in. They say they have “indoor” pools but it’s really not. It’s just a covered pool. We went down on our first night thinking the kids would get to swim in a warm, indoor heated pool. Wrong. The pool area is only covered. Imagine being in a gazebo. You’re covered but all of the sides are out. The breakfast was decent. Waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, muffins, etc. The restaurant food was decent. The parking spaces are very tight. We were driving a SUV and goodness it was a tight squeeze. Overall, our stay was good. I would come back again. I just hope they get the elevator situation fixed because that could’ve easily been me and I would’ve been upset as well, so I get why the others were angry. Other than those few things, the hotel is overall nice and worth the stay.

Great experience so far!!! Front desk receptionist Kylie was really kind and made some accommodations that best fit our families stay. Our room is very clean, as well as the hotel itself. We know our first time in Myrtle Beach will be fun!
