My family visited this location on recently. On on our second day, we had not seen or heard from housekeeping by early afternoon. My elderly father had to sit in the lobby while he waited for our room to be serviced. (So he thought.) This is a beach town so it's sandy and also happened to rain. All towels were used, we ate in the room, etc as we stayed in a bit for our trip due to rain. My dad had gone to the pool and the rest of us went shopping. When I returned from shopping, I found my dad in the lobby and he told me what happened. I had to go the front desk to inquire 4 times before we got someone to clean the room. The housekeeping manager was rude but finally allowed someone to clean our room. We had to wait over 4 hours in the LOBBY during this stay to get our room cleaned, new towel supply, etc. Apparently, HAMPTON INN ISLE OF PALMS only clean the rooms ***EVERY OTHER DAY***. Sandy, beach area! No one told us this at check in as we would have told them our expectations to have our room cleaned daily. (Like, DISGUSTING). I told the front desk rep the next morning and she dismissed the situation NO APOLOGY...just lots of excuses and NO EMPATHY for our inconvenience. I asked for the manager. You guessed it, two birds of a feather.... Carrie the "manager" responded the same way. The first lady tried to dismiss the situation again by interrupting the discussion with Carrie. POOR, POOR EXCUSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I asked for the general manager and got his card. I left him a message and as you know...he did not return the call. EMPATHY, KINDNESS...these were missing. As I always say, its not what you say, but how you say it and genuinely try to resolve. Hampton Inn, please train your front desk workers that worked the morning of 8/11/25. One was a white lady about 45 with straight dark brown hair, the other was a blondish brown, curly haired white lady about 60. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. And HAMPTON INN at this location, please get it together. We will never stay there and you should't either. The Marriott Courtyard or Comfort Inn are other locations nearby that I have stayed at that are incredible. They are right near the beach.

Very pleased with 3-night stay. Room was quiet (good location), bed was comfortable, AC was great. Free breakfast was decent. All staff very friendly and helpful. Good location. Ask for room not facing courtyard where pool is.

It was very difficult to find this hotel located at the end of a large retail center. It's easy to find the hotel at night because there's lighted signs but during the day the signs are hidden by trees. The woman working at the front desk upgraded the room to a suite. The suite was large with a kitchenette opposite a room with a couch and chair with à second TV. The only issue was sitting on each side of the coach I would up with bed bug bites on both arms. I know it was from the old couch because I checked the bed and it passed with flying colors. The bed was new and very clean and comfortable. I told the same woman that upgraded the room at check in and she said my bites were from wood beetles because they've never had bedbugs. I had bedbug bites, many of them from the Marriott Residence Inn in Fort Myers, FL. I'm familiar with bedbugs. Of course they also denied and refused to comp a day or two.

Room was great, but we literally stayed an extra night to use the beach and pool… lady working closed the pool at 9pm even though the signs said open until 10pm. When I asked about it, she said it was a new corporate policy. Why would you close a pool at 9pm in the summer time at the beach. AS A DIAMOND MEMBER THIS WAS A WASTE OF MY POINTS. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here if you want to use the pool .

The cleaning and custodial staff were genuinely kind and professional. They regularly asked how our day was going and went out of their way to be helpful, including holding doors open while going about their work. At the front desk, Karry was especially warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, that tone quickly shifted after Karry’s departure. Basic questions about local dining recommendations were met with unhelpful, dismissive responses like “we don’t eat around here” and comments about the area being “full of out-of-towners”—which felt like a passive jab at guests like us. After some of our party had checked out, we realized my daughter had left behind a few belongings, including her headphones. We asked the front desk about them three separate times. Twice, we were told flatly that no one would check the lost and found. On the third attempt, the staff member actually asked me to describe the headphones. When I did, she initially said they weren’t there—despite the fact that I could see them in her hand. Only after confronting her did she reluctantly hand them over. It was an uncomfortable and unsettling moment that should never happen in a hospitality setting. Additionally, while the rooms were clean, they had a persistent, strong moldy odor that made it difficult to sleep. My wife had difficulty breathing and even required an inhaler. The musky smell was unpleasant and noticeable throughout our stay. I remain a loyal Hilton Honors member, but this experience has made me wary of the Hampton Inn and Suites brand. I can confidently say I will not be staying at this location again.
