"Good overnight stay"

A good overnight stay with no shortcomings. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bed was fine. They offered valet parking and the attendants were always prompt and courteous, as was the desk staff. Breakfast was fine. The location was good with stores and restaurants within walking distance in a distinctive neighborhood. We have had some quality control problems with Hampton Inns recently, but this one reminded us of what the Hampton Inns used to be like on a consistent basis. We would stay here again the next time we are in Portland.

We spent 2 nights here prior to a river cruise celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with friends we met on our honeymoons. The staff were incredible, upgraded us to suites, surprised us with champagne and other treats. Can’t say enough good things about the hospitality. Highly recommend

"Our 2nd stay at a Hampton Inn and we felt good about it! Good customer service and loved the World Foods deli next door!"

This was the 2nd Hampton Inn we stayed at during our travels. We arrived into PDX airport and took the Max light rail (red line), changing to the Green line at Rose quarter transit center to Union Station, the nearest stop to the hotel. It was dark when we arrived and all manner of unsavoury characters, druggies and homeless were on the streets. The streets were also not well lit and the whole place seemed deserted. It appeared this part of downtown goes dead of all good activity once the sun goes down. My advice is not to get to the hotel by this means if you flight arrives any later than 2pm as you'll want to do this commute with ample daylight left. After a few nerve-wracking blocks walk, we got there relieved and frazzled. The hotel itself is quite good. The room was spacious. My brother had a King room which was big enough for actually 3 king beds. Next morning, we could appreciate the area more. In daylight it is much better. We loved the World Foods across the street - we bought everything we need from there for all our meals. Great deli, coffee shop & bar selling locally made products. Very cool place. There were many things within walkable distance like restaurants, bookstores, a pharmacy. It's also close to the tram lines so it's perfectly situated. The staff were very helpful. We appreciated the microwave at the reception desk. Breakfast was fine with the 3 cooked hot items plus peeled hard-boiled eggs. Those who don't have time for brekkie can grab a prepackaged paperbag filled with a few basics like an apple, bottle of water, mini peanut butter, jam and a bagel. I just wished the hotel chain would think about giving guests a refillable water bottle and having them refill than handing out plastic water bottles everyday. There was a water refill station in the gym just off the lobby which I appreciated. The rooftop deck was a nice place to hang out. Just wish there were some activities up there. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would happily stay there on a return. I especially liked that it was a pick-up location for some of the tour companies like Infinite Oregon Tours. So much better than taking a taxi to one of the meeting spots for the tours.

"A hotel oozing coolness and fun"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

My family and I had some miles to burn so we decided to take our kid on a flight for the first time in his life. We decided Portland would be cool to visit again and it's kid friendly. The trip to and from Portland was a circus but Hampton Inn & Suites Portland in the Pearl District made it worthwhile. Upon our arrival the parking person helped us with gathering things together. Kind and nice, he welcomed us warmly and was super attentive! (A good sign and a relief from airport folks!) Rushing to the airport and packing the night before, we left some necessities behind. Thank god for the associates at the front desk. The nice lady gave us toothbrushes and toothpaste. She also provided us water and even educated me about their app. (More about the app later.) After unloading in the room, we took a gander around the room and it was super clean. The bathroom looked as though it was scrubbed down and good enough to eat off of. The bed items were clean and smelled fresh. The TV connection was strong and the fridge was cold. PERFECTO! Onwards to the pool! My son loves to swim/play in water. Both my wife and I took him twice to the pool over our 3 night stay. The water was clean and there was an abundance of towels. I spent almost 2 hours with my kid in the pool knowing that the facility was clean and the structures are safe! One issue we had was not related to the hotel, more with the upstairs neighbor. I swear there was a monkey jumping and flipping around. I felt the irregular timing of thumps and bumps throughout the night. Suffice to say I was pretty annoyed. Using the Hilton Honors App I pinged the front desk and there was no response. I was unsure if the app crashed or if there were connection issues. I ended up going down to the lobby and spoke to the front desk who were extremely apologetic. The issue was eventually addressed as I slept like a tired dog. The next morning I noticed we were running out of soap. I called for a refill and they said they'll bring some up. I waited 30 minutes and it wasn't delivered. I decided to test the app and sent some funny messages. Tired of waiting we decided to head out and I stopped by the front desk to request for more soap. I also apologized for the funny messages and the whole front desk laughed about it. They also apologized for the delay in delivery of the soap and missing the messages as the new team member didn't log into the messaging platform. We all laughed about the situation. I LOVE THEIR HUMOR! They are so cool! Overall I felt like I was at home and the team members there were like family. They provided toys for my son and answered questions about the pool from him. The team provided directions for our exploration of the neighborhood. The parking team always were welcoming. I enjoyed my time there and I hope to stay there again! TY Hampton Inn & Suites Portland Team for making my child's first flight memorable and fun!
