"Beautiful wedding venue"

The Grandover Resort was a beautiful setting for our wedding, and our guests loved having everything in one place with the hotel, restaurants, and amenities on-site. The ballrooms and outdoor areas were stunning, and the food and service were excellent. Rebekah was helpful throughout the planning process and kept everything on track leading up to the big day. Overall, it was a great experience, and we are *so* glad we chose the Grandover for our wedding.

The Grandover: 5 star staff in a sort of 4 star resort hotel. Ist of all I don’t golf so I can’t comment on that aspect of the G. Aside from that, the staff, from the bell boy who met us at the entrance, the cheerful housekeeper to the maintenance who graciously programmed our tv. Absolutely the best group of hotel employees, period Physically, the meeting rooms are large and comfortable, the restaurant good if a little drab, the bar lively. My only quibble was with our room. It was comfortable w great view but annoyingly lacked some basic amenities. There was a bedside phone charger but only on one side of the bed making night-time phone access awkward for the 2nd occupant. Bedside tables had a single deep bin of a drawer so not convenient to hold small items like wallet and keys. And the single low dresser had shelves not drawers. Quibbles, but you expect better in a luxury hotel.

"Enjoyed my Stay for Business"

I travel to High Point for work about 1-2X a year. In the past, I've stayed at a hotel in High Point and have been very disappointed. I found the Grandover as I was looking for other hotels in the area - even beyond High Point - and I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. The property is well maintained both inside and outside. Service was very good throughout my stay. The room was clean, updated and a decent size with a good sized bathroom. There was a stand in shower and a large sink area to put down your toiletries. Free bottles of water were in the room. The bed was comfy with decent fluffiness in the pillows. Sound was very minimal from inside the hallway or outside the hotel while in the room. The gym was a good size with decent options - better than most hotels. I would love to explore the pool next time - whether its indoors or outdoors. Overall - I'm glad I found this hotel and will stay here in my future trips to the area.

"Minor cleanups needed to bring back newness"

Grandover resort is now a Wyndham Grand hotel with each year the Wyndham PGA event is played at Sedgefield CC just up the street. With this much influx of traffic into this modern resort hotel, you would think that mgt would invest in cleaning all outside surfaces of the exterior facades of mildew prior to the tournament. Additionally, the hotel pools needed cleaning in that they were showing dirt from the bottom of the pools (both indoor and exterior). Without a lot of investment is needed to keep the exterior of this fine resort to match the interior and immaculate offerings this resort brings.

"Overpriced faded glory"

This hotel is old, they are doing minimal maintenance, and it shows. When we arrived we found our room door difficult to open, the handle has to be worked “just so”, even from the inside. Better hope you don’t have to evacuate in an emergency. About half the holes in the rain shower were plugged resulting in barely a drip. The faucet in the bathroom sink was badly tarnished. The thermostat had a mind of its own. The decor is very dated, lots of 1990s brass and glass. Classy if you’re Tony Soprano. Despite the above there were many positives. The breakfast buffet was excellent (but expensive at $30 per person). The pool and hot tub were also great (but the bar service stopped at 4:00 and no food was available) with sunny and covered seating and real resort pool, not just a concrete square, and the grounds are very nice and maintained. The HVAC in the room was super quiet which is very rare in hotels so kudos for that. Some parts are understaffed but the staff that was there gave great service. At $200-250 a night or so I would have fewer complaints but we paid $300/night on a weekend when the place wasn’t even half full and that was too much for what we got, especially since our room was on the side overlooking I-85 instead of the golf course (even though many of them were empty on our floor). We booked directly with the hotel which is supposed to be the way to get the best price and rooms but I dunno about that in this case, that may have been the sucker way this time and it doesn’t feel good to be played.
