"Beautiful hotel"

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Bed linens are high quality and bed very comfortable. The staff is well trained and welcoming. The Skybar -fine dining and Nettuno-casual but classy-are both excellent restaurants. Our large family (15) stayed here over a weekend and we were all very impressed!

"You can’t see out the windows of the double queen rooms.."

Beautiful hotel with mostly-excellent service. However the beds completely blocked the windows in our double queen room. The bathroom, however, was beautiful with separate water closet. Unfortunately we didn't spend the majority of our stay in the bathroom. The room itself felt claustrophobic with only 2 drawers for clothes and a tiny closet. The housekeeping staff was top notch and the room was immaculate. The breakfast restaurant had slow service and the portions were small for the price. The Sky Bar had amazing views but again, the service was slow and my vodka tonic was $30 with tip. People were in the lobby in bathing suits even though the beautiful pool was on the 3rd floor. Elevators were small and slow. Overall it did not feel like a good value for the money.

"A great hotel by any other brand"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed August 28, 2025 NEW
I am divided on my stay. On the one hand every interaction I had with the staff was pleasant. Everyone seemed to be very friendly and professional. The property itself feels quite fresh as has just been recently renovated and other than the absence of a gold lounge / floor I would say is appointed similarly to other Fairmont hotels. The services however I feel is where I am feeling a bit let down. Some are the hotel and I think some are the brand (either Fairmont or Accor). I am an Accor member but was disappointed to find that because my trip was booked by my work (who use travel agent services) even though I selected which hotel I was staying (here purposefully out of loyalty) was ineligible for any loyalty benefits, yet upon checking I was thanked for my loyalty. I can understand a reduced earning rate or something but to have all benefits gone because it was not booked direct doesn’t make me want to continue that loyalty. (Probably brand more than hotel) The food and drink program at the property is again interesting. On the one had all but one meal I had was outstanding. The lobby restaurant is great for something simple and the other bars and formal dinging was lovely. The hours and and availability however were not great. The lobby restaurants menu listings online and in my room never seemed to quite match what was actually available, especially for set menu options. I can appreciate this is probably more a weekend spot but being here over the week it was inconvenient that the only casual dinner option is room service, which incurs what felt like a higher charge and fee than other Fairmont properties. The formal dining option here is very good but equally high end. Once on a visit sure it’s a lovely splurge but sometimes after work you just want to have something simple. There is a daily resort fee which at the time I came offered an offsetting food and drink credit however due to the limited dining options it felt quite impractical to actually make use of it. My overall impression in contrast to other Fairmont properties is that this sort of looks the part but doesn’t quite make it there. In my view the difference between the 4th and 5th star is that something else factor that sets things over the top and it’s just not here in my opinion. Perhaps my being Canadian casts a different shadow over what a Fairmont is / should be (this is my first non Canadian visit) but while it is a good hotel with nice staff there is just something I feel is missing that does not have it in the same categories as the ones back home. I don’t know that I would have occasion to be back but I would have to explore options before I decided to for sure, though there was no one reason why I wouldn’t.

I had an Historic Birthday "Staycation!"  in Long Beach for a 3 nights. WOW. This is a delcicious spot.  Conveniently located on Ocean Avenue iin Long Beach's beautiful downtown, steps to the Ocean, this newly renovated Historic Hotel was a weekend dream. We had a cozy delicious dinner on arrivial in our suite, which was really like a small apartment. Beautifully appointed and spacious with an ocean view.  They welcomed our well-behaved doggie and the room was super lux.  The next day after some sun and swimming in the beautiful roof top pool,  where  nearby I enjoyed a glass of champagne, we walked to the Pike Outlets for shopping and fun featuring local vendors & artisans. Great stores, unique fashions and acessories. Everyone is raving about the Roof-Top at this Hotel, which is spectacular.  However, we fell in love with the delicios Italian cuisine prepared by Chef Giuseppe at Nettuno.  My very favorite dish of the weekend-- Smoked Salmon Crostini with herbed marscopone, capers and onions!  I NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE!

We had a lovely one night stay here , and the hotel is really beautiful. The staff is very nice and location is prime in a walkable area. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with Le Labo amenities (extra star!). We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and food was solid. I loved reading about the history of the building, they’ve really transformed the property well.
