"Wonderful Hotel Experience"

Staff was wonderful & accommodating to our special circumstances at check in. The room was perfect & the evening reception & buffet breakfast was amazing. Close to everything in downtown Portland. Would stay again!

"Watch for $300 Deep Cleaning Fee"

My family and I stayed at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland on August 7. We were impressed with the hotel and it's location. We booked through hotels.com. Four days after our stay we were charged an additional $300 by the hotel. We have not received any correspondence via phone, email, or mail explaining the charge. I called the front desk and was told that it was a deep cleaning fee. The person I spoke with offered to transfer me to the General Manager of the hotel. I have since left three messages, left my name and number, but have never received a call back. I did a walkthrough of our room before checking out and I have no idea what would have resulted in the need to deep clean the room. I see a review on here from a customer who stayed on August 8 who says they were charged a similar fee due to readings from their smoke detector. If my family's fee is due to the same thing, then the detectors they are using have an issue. No one in my family smokes or vapes and we didn't light a candle or anything that should register on a smoke detector. Regardless of the reason, the most frustrating thing is the complete lack of response from the General Manager. It's difficult to trust a hotel chain when there isn't any professional communication.

"Good stay"

Good place to stay in the downtown area. Historic building remodeled to reflect embassy suites standards of quality. Not your typically ES but not a bad thing. Good breakfast quiet rooms and good housekeeping with clean rooms. Valet seems to be the only choice for parking and is a little on the high side. Not a deal breaker though.

"DO NOT GO THIS PLACE! BE AWARE"

My experience was extremely disappointing due to an unfair charge and the staff's unwillingness to resolve the issue. On August 8, 2025 I was charged $300 because the smoke detector in our room went off. No one in my family smokes at all. As Latinos, we struggled to communicate, but the staff didn’t help or investigate. I asked the manager to provide any physical evidence or video record but they refused to reconsider the charge, insisting only that 'the sensor flagged something' without investigating further. This experience ruined our stay on my mom’s birthday with my family and left us with a very negative impression. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

"Enjoyable, Comfortable Stay in Portland"

We really enjoyed our visit to Portland and are so glad we stayed at the Embassy Suites. The room was spacious, comfortable. I enjoyed using the gym (2 peloton bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills, a rower, mats and weights. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and evening reception. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are restaurants nearby (including Mother’s Bistro downstairs which is very good). There is also a snack shop and a cafe in the lobby level. This was a central location for all of our site seeing and it was easy to get around and to the train station and airport from here.
