DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Savannah Historic District in Savannah, GA

Greg Smith and Chef Meko was a great host to us. They made us feel very welcome and made sure we had everything we need during our stay. Breakfast was great every morning !

The Double tree hotel is located at the west end of Bay Street. The hotel could use some updating, but I would imagine it would not be the same brand or as affordable. If you’re noise sensitive, request a room that doesn’t face MLK blvd. The front desk staff and bartender were so very nice. Jamie in Valet was there to greet us immediately and when we departed and several times in between as we walked our little dog. She was very personable and friendly. We would stay here again for sure

Room and service was very nice. Ate breakfast in the hotel before the conference and Avi did an impeccable job managing multiple tables at once and ensuring I had all I needed.

We informed the hotel that we would be arriving around 7:30 as we were driving in from Savanah. We arrived, checked in and went to our room. When we got in the room it was not the room we booked. Dragged all of our things back down to the lobby where the lady on the desk said " oh yeah, I wanted to tell you that. We have been oversold by 10 rooms so some of the King rooms were changed to city view doubles. Only after we were disgruntled did she give us 2 breakfast vouchers but nothing else was done to get our original booking back. It was only one night so we said fine. However later on the room was noisy because of course, it was a city view with the noise coming from the market rock bands nearby. But the real disappointment was upon checkout, only when we got in the car to leave did we notice that they overcharged us for the room by over a hundred dollars. We went back in to the front desk to correct this and were refunded, though we've yet to see it on the card, but hardly an apology was made. more like an oops. We suspect that we were charged the room rate of the room that they changed on us because again, THEY gave someone else our room because THEY oversold. Other notes to add, first, as a heads up the valet parking is handled by a separate entity, so you have to deal with the guys at the front separately and give them your credit card and also, breakfast was not that great but we didn't care that much about the breakfast.
