"Ruined my birthday vacation"
TripAdvisor user rating 1.0 out of 5
Reviewed June 30, 2025 NEW
I booked a birthday weekend JUNE 2025 at the DoubleTree Hilton Grand Hotel, unaware that the property was undergoing significant construction. Unfortunately, this information was not disclosed at the time of booking. Upon arrival, we discovered that the pool area was surrounded by ongoing construction on the deck, and the first through third floors were filled with dust. Additionally, there were large dumpsters placed directly outside the patio areas, and the bedding and comforters were noticeably unclean. Construction workers were present throughout the property, creating an atmosphere far from what was advertised. After driving nine hours based on the hotel’s website and the information provided by the booking agent, we were extremely disappointed to find ourselves stuck the first night of our vacation. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE COULD JUST CHECK OUT IF WE WERE NOT SATISFIED OR WAIT TIL THE FOLLOWING DAY AND GET A RENOVATED ROOM...Also after paying they held our money and we still do not have it back 5 days later. They Stated it is depending on the bank when our money goes back to us. Do not go here.

"Manager can’t be bothered to speak with us…."

We we’re awoken by a very loud truck and it’s back up alarm at 5:45 am…tried to go back to sleep but the truck returned 20 minutes later….Had a very important business meeting that morning…very little sleep…This was a Saturday morning…Asked to speak to the manager so we could be moved to a different room not above the construction mess below…Was told by the front desk she would call me…that didn’t happen….eventually was told they couldn’t move us and it was a trash truck making the noise and we would need to put up with the construction noise…The manager refused to talk with us or come out of her office…Terrible impression on us…No more bookings at this location from us….Was it really worth the loss in revenue down the road?

"Poor maintance. Stay away."
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5
Reviewed May 01, 2025
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Grand Key - Key West I spent 3 days there last weekend. I have multiple complaints. Readers take this seriously as I have previously been a Hilton Diamond member for several years. 1. There are 2 elevators. Only one was in service the entire time 2. The front and pool entrances were deteriorated with spalling paint, and rusted metal, demonstrating very significant "defered maintanance" 3. The pool lanscaping was poorly cared for and there was a coconut on the ground indicating failure to protect the guests. These things can kill you. 4. The Jacuzzi had sand and grit in it Saturday, and the same stuff the next day. It was obviously not cleaned. 5. The hallway walls were scuffed. 6. Be aware that the hotel is right near the takeoff pattern for the airport. That said, the staff I interacted with were friendly and the room was well appointed. The shuttle to town ran frequently and on time. Overall, I was very disappointed.
