"The Doubletree is my GO-TO hotel when staying in Key West."
TripAdvisor user rating 5.0 out of 5

I try to get down to the keys as often as I can. When I decide to make the longer trek to Key West, I always plan to stay at the Doubletree. So you could say that I have been here a few times. What keeps me coming back? #1 The STAFF - some of the best I have experienced. #2 The Property - GREAT pool and deck for grabbing some rays and relaxing with a cocktail. #3 The Room - spacious and CLEAN #4 - The PROPERTY - Clean, Clean #5 Breakfast Buffet - Has everything you need! #6 - The Shuttle to Downtown. A great feature since you are further away and parking can be difficult, especially during high season. #7 SAFES - Not that I had any problems with theft, but I do appreciate a safe that is big enough for my laptop and additional items. What else can I say? Except in the immortal words of The TERMINATOR....I'LL BE BACK!

"Terrible customer service"
TripAdvisor user rating 2.0 out of 5

Terrible experience after 13 hours driving arriving at the reception and being welcomed by a lady with terrible maners, very aggressive and unkind. My father was so uncomfortable he backed up from the reception and he was called aggressively to get close to the table. I was told off when I said is a room with one bed as if I was an ignorant for not knowing a double queen is 2 separate beds but I do not have to know this as I am not from the Usa. Rooms are called different in the UK. The receptionist did not even have the patience to explain it kindly instead she just told me off. I forgot to mention I am a travel agent working for a tour operator in London United Kingdom and part of my job is inspecting hotels. I would not even rate this hotel. It is more like a Motel. Dated tired and service so far ....not impressed. No information was given about breakfast and what is the cost. She even told us off cos we did not want cookies 😒 sorry I do not like to eat sugar ! The lady at the reception needs to know that a lot of people are suffering in all the world conflicts and they would love to have her job! Kindness does not cost anything. Be grateful you have a job !

"Birthday Celebration Plus Rude Staff (Okay Stay)!"
TripAdvisor user rating 3.0 out of 5
Reviewed August 04, 2025
We were warmly greeted with fresh cookies and water! There was construction but I barely heard anything and the workers were very polite. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable as well as most stay accommodations. However, unfortunately I met the rude and aggressive nighttime customer service staff member that everyone keeps complaining about in previous reviews (also in Google reviews). I politely asked a clarifying question and she quickly snapped at me and changed her demeanor. She already has a history of this behavior and the company has kept her on board so my complaint won’t do much. Tip for anyone visiting: avoid asking questions or needing assistance at night unless you want to get treated poorly. Daytime staff has customer service skills and are happy to assist!
