We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the course of several years. The location is excellent and staff professional. However, the rooms and maintenance are in need of improvement. We have stayed in more than one room that has damage on the bathroom door. The balconies are in need of cleaning and lobby decor/wall hangings need dusting. Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider are available in the lobby. Restaurant has a good menu for breakfast. They had some very cute Pumpkin carvings that added a festive fall touch.

Great location for the Durango narrow-gauge railway. Hotel itself not usual Hilton standard. Reception area dark , could be lovely with some decoration and comfortable sofas. Room was ok but again very dark. Hotel in need of a remodel. Breakfast very nice but service so slow, not enough staff. Had dinner in the patio bar / restaurant beside the river, delicious food and friendly, efficient staff.

Hotel is old and dingy. It needs a complete remodel. That, combined with the high price, makes it a place I won't stay at again

This has been the worst Hilton experience my wife and I have ever had. At check-in, “Mr. Upgrade” tried to upgrade me three times in under a minute, like we were being penalized for using Hotel(.).com/Priceline—it felt rushed and impersonal. On top of that, the heating system was useless—no matter what we tried, it blew cold air in the middle of the night, and the maid’s extra comforter was the only thing keeping us from freezing. Additionally: Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom $10 Coors Lights in the bar—outrageous Pool and hot tub in poor condition No one offered to carry our luggage up the stairs The whole hotel felt old and run down We expected much better service, especially as a Hilton Honors member. My wife herself was a Hilton General Manager 20 years ago, so we know what proper service should look like. This isn’t just about minor annoyances—it’s a level of service and facility upkeep that doesn’t reflect the Hilton name. I hope you take this seriously and use it to improve. Mr. Boggs

Stayed three nights and really enjoyed the hotel. Location is great. The river is right outside your room and downtown is across the street. We walked to dinner and the train. Grocery store shares the parking lot. And they happen to have chocolate chip cookies whenever you ask!
