First of all, this is a gorgeous hotel with all the amenities you could ever desire. The reason I am rating this hotel with only 1 star is because of the manager, Sam, and our personal experience. Hopefully, if you book here, you will have an enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, our experience was not a good one. We have reservations for three nights in October which was booked in August. Upon our arrival we were told our reservation had been cancelled at noon on our arrival day. The staff member at the front desk did not know why and called the manager...4 times. We were told to wait. We waited 40 minutes and he never came out of his office. We asked several people to go into his office to tell him we were waiting to talk with him. After 1 hour and 4 different people telling him we were waiting, Sam the manager, finally sat down to talk with us. The first thing he did was to offer us a cookie...Doubletree's trademark cookie. We were not impressed. Sam explained he had some damage to 6 of his rooms earlier in the day and had to make some cancellations. How he decided who was going to cancel was not explained to us. We suspect we were cancelled because our room was booked with an employee discount. Sam made arrangements for us to stay an another hotel the first night but they could not accommodate us for three nights so we spent the entire evening at that hotel on the phone between Sam at the Doubletree and a staff member at the Fairfield trying to get accomodations for the following night. That was finally accomplished at midnight. By this time, Sam had gone home and Maxine, his assistant, told me she would be working on Sunday from 3-11 and assured me we would have a room at the Doubletree on Sunday evening. The next night we changed hotels again. Upon our checkout on Sunday morning we still weren't sure where we were staying on Sunday evening. At 3:00 on Sunday afternoon, we called the Doubletree and asked for Maxine. Well, Maxine did not come into work that day! We spoke to the manager on duty, Diego, who was extremely courteous and helpful. Diego assured us there would be a room ready for us upon our arrival. Diego was true to his word and greeted us personally with extra cookies. He made sure we had a nice dinner at the Grille 39 and told us to let him know if we needed anything at all. He was amazing. Our last night was comfortable at the Doubletree. We thought all was over and done until we returned home and found we had been charged for three nights at the Doubletree on our credit card. We called the hotel several times for a week. We left endless messages for Sam and voicemails. We were given his email address and wrote to him as well. He never returned one phone call, message or email. We finally called our credit card company and disputed the charge. They refunded our money immediately and will deal with the Doubletree for us. This is a lovely hotel to stay at as far as accomodations, but I do hope your reservation isn't cancelled before you get there.
