What wildlife might I see on the tour?

Are manatee sightings guaranteed?

Manatees are wild animals so sightings cannot be guaranteed, but Crystal River has one of Florida’s highest sighting rates. During winter months, large numbers gather in the springs, increasing viewing opportunities. Peak season runs from November through March.

Are the tours suitable for beginners or non-swimmers?

Yes. The calm waters of Kings Bay make this tour beginner-friendly, and guests can enjoy wildlife viewing without entering the water. Life jackets are provided, and for children weighing 30 lbs or under, it is recommended to bring a size-specific, Coast Guard-approved life jacket.

How long is the tour?

Each guided experience lasts approximately two hours, allowing time to paddle, observe wildlife, and learn about the ecosystem.

Are the kayaks tandem or solo?

Kayaks are tandem and designed for two paddlers. For groups with an odd number of participants, one person may paddle solo with guide assistance.

What should I bring on the kayak tour?

Bring water, a swimsuit or quick-dry clothes, water-friendly sandals/shoes, a towel, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. A dry bag is provided per kayak.

Are there weight or age restrictions?

The tour is open to all ages. Each tandem kayak holds up to 425 lbs total, with a maximum of 250 lbs per seat. Each child age 3–11 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 must be accompanied by two adults.

Can I bring a pet?

Yes, pets are allowed as long as they don’t exceed the kayak’s weight limit.
