"This a mixed score card. It’s old, dated and tattered. Room was clean , bathroom was clean. Staff responsive. Food- meh"

Mixed score card: place is old, the furniture in the room was torn up. Carpet was as well. Ac/heat worked well and we needed it because it was freaking cold, in the 40s. Could be a real gem if someone replaced the stained chairs in the dinning room. Yuck. Like gross. Staff was attentive but not met with a smile . Seems as though the place doesn’t appreciate a staff to achieve great customer service. The place is right across the street from Emory midtown which is why we came. I stayed in many midtown hotels in midtown for work and this is by far the worst. And it’s not cheap. A classic case of not getting what you paid for. Room was beaten up, the furniture was torn up. The carpet stopped three inches from a balcony that wouldn’t open. I know they rarely of every steam clean hotel carpets but this one needed replacement. No evidence of rodents or vermin and I was surprised not to find any. Light bills were burned out or missing and the outlets for charging we broken or missing. Most importantly, congrats to the maid staff, the bathroom was spotless and in repair. No mold anywhere and the shower curtain looks like it was properly laundered. I was shocked given the tattered state of the rest of the room. Big bravo for me because we were about to get another hotel. A sum up: staff gets a solid B. Good not great. Physical plant is a D. IHG can renovate this place. Caveat: given how close to the sports venues in midtown, the place gets a lot of crowds that are here for the party . I get it but not a reason to not maintain the place. Room: a well earned F except the bathroom which is a C because it’s ok and worn. Fixtures were worn and rusty. So to me: a generous C. Also, not the safest neighborhood but far from the worst. Not a place to walk around because Tod have to walk closer to the sports venues.

"Now May Not Be the Time to Stay at the Crowne Plaza"

My understanding is that Marriott has acquired the Crowne Plaza and will fully renovate the hotel in 2026. That may explain why IHG has not invested much money to fix the current problems. I stayed there for eight nights for two different conferences and everyone else I spoke to had complaints. One colleague even gave up and switched to a different hotel after she told me her first room was filthy and her second room had a carpet that was totally wet. Almost everyone experienced water in sinks and showers that never got hotter than lukewarm. The ice machines on many floors do not work and rooms do not have mini-fridges. The windows need better sound proofing. I tried calling the front desk several times from my room, but nobody every answered, so I had to go downstairs to speak to someone. That being said, I found the staff always pleasant and helpful, particularly Felicia. Kamira and Antonio were also helpful.

"Beware -- this hotel should not have a 3.6 rating"

Honestly, I can't understand how this place has more than 1 or 2 stars for a rating, unless they're from past years. I normally don't bother to review hotels, but I am hoping to save someone from believing the 3.6 rating. Part of the problem may be that the property was recently sold for renovations planned for 2026, so my guess is they're not investing in upkeep of basic systems. For example, during my stay of five days, no one I spoke with at the conference I was attending could get more than 1-1/2 to 2 minutes of lukewarm water. There was no hot water, and they said the boilers were the issue. There was also either a musty smell in rooms or a very chemical smell, presumably trying to cover up the mildewy overtones. Towel replacement was inconsistent (I was given a washcloth on 1 of my 5 days, and while I would have been happy to reuse it, it was taken away as dirty but not replaced), and while my linens were clean enough, others weren't so lucky. I also had ripped curtain liners and a shredded mattress cover. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the view was nice enough, and there were two people at the front desk trying very, very hard to help a lot of very, very unhappy people. My thoughts are with them, because I don't think their job is going to get any easier, and I doubt they're paid near enough for the quantity of complaints they were trying to handle.

"Remarkably disappointing on so many levels"

The hotel is not a full service hotel experience and certainly not up the crowne plaza status or standards. A lot of deferred maintenance, no safe or clock in guestroom. Housekeeping service spotty at best, multiple requests for toilet paper, towels, soap, shampoo, maid service late afternoon evening evening all 3 days, no HOT water, terrible food and beverage service in breakfast restaurant and lobby bar, it seems like this is a franchise hotel that is in the process of losing its flag and just does not care about customer service or experience…the value proposition is very poor, I would avoid unless heavily discounted and staying there with very low expectations

"Nightmare"

WARNING!!!!!!! Do not waste your money on this hotel. This hotel is old and run down. My mattress did not have a cover on it and was stained by god knows what. There was no hot water in the morning when I was about to shower.. I booked it though a third party and neither of them wanted to take responsibility for the issues. I stayed the one night and had to switch to another hotel.
