Stopped by a resort bar in Myrtle Beach while attending a conference, and this place completely caught me off guard—in the best way. My girlfriend and I ordered a couple of Old Fashioneds, expecting the usual. When the bartender casually asked if we wanted them *smoked*, I had to do a double take. That little twist elevated the whole experience from “just another drink” to something genuinely memorable. The cocktails were fantastic—smooth, well-balanced, and the smoky finish added a depth that made each sip stand out. You can tell there’s real attention to detail behind the bar. On top of that, the bartender was excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Great service makes a big difference, and it definitely showed here. If you’re in the area and appreciate a well-crafted cocktail, this spot is absolutely worth checking out. Thank you : Tracy!!!

I hate this hotel. I didn't realize the location was in the seedier part of Myrtle Beach, so restaurants around the area aren't great and there's very little available at the hotel. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, very unlike your typical Marriott. The cleanliness was also not up to normal Marriott standards. Several days, we walked by the same pile of trash in the hallway for hours. The biggest issue I had was that not all amenities were available- we booked this for the water areas for our two kids. The kiddie area wasn't open during our whole trip! So our toddler could see the slides and play near them but he couldn't go on them and none of water splash area was running. Apparently they only open on weekends, which makes absolutely no sense since the pool area and bigger water slides are fully functioning- try explaining this to a toddler!! And while the big water slides are open and a lot of fun, they are two hotels down!! So if you are traveling with more than one kid, you either have to divide and conquer or drag them all over there. Also you need bracelets to enter, but the front desk doesn't tell you this so you have to walk back and forth to get them before security will let you on the slides. There's no outdoor bar, so you have to go back into the lobby to access - and only after 12. You can go to the hotel next door, which is affiliated somehow though. All of this we learned on our own during the stay. The miserable front desk staff never told us any of this. It was a very disappointing stay for us Marriott loyalists.

Courtyard - Room 306 This was a mother/daughter trip with my 87 year old mother. She uses a walker and was able to easily get around the hotel and the room. We arrived at the hotel early and we were just sitting in the lobby until check-in time. The bellman, Will, came over to greet us and to see if we needed anything. I cannot say enough about how caring and accommodating he was! He took all of our things over to a booth area that was more comfortable for my mother. He helped her to the booth and then went and got her a blanket. He continued to check on us until check-in time. At that time, he went our room early and turned the heat on for my mom because it was pretty chilly out. He went above and beyond his job!! Marriott is LUCKY to have him! Room 306 - Our room was clean, nice and had a nice view. However, it is very close to the pool and the sitting area right. Any rooms right in that area are going to be a little noisy and it feels like anyone sitting on the 2nd floor sitting area can see right into your room. They probably can't, but they definitely can see right on to your balcony. We asked to move, but never were. We were told they were working on it, but no one ever contacted us back, so we just decided to stay where we were. Other than that one hiccup, we enjoyed our stay and had great views. The other employee that stood out to us was Lexi. She was working in the Starbucks and restaurant area. She also was very accommodating and was so friendly! Every time we saw her she was smiling and had the sweetest demeanor. We would definitely stay at this property again!

The Bartender, Tracey was extremely nice, helpful and professional. The food was amazing and the drinks was great! I will definitely be staying here in the future! And I highly recommend this hotel and stop by the bar to see Tracey, order a drink and some appetizers!

"Unwelcoming front desk staff ruined everything"

I had high hopes for Courtyard Marriott Myrtle Beach Oceanfront after reading the good reviews but regretted the moment I checked in. The front desk staff (Brian) who checked me in did not make me feel welcomed. Instead of greeting me, he started the conversation by saying "driver's license?". He was cold and almost made me feel uncomfortable. He never acknowledged my Marriott Titanium status and was impatient when I asked about the floor of my room. He was either having a bad day or lacks the people skills one needs to stay in the hospitality industry. The hotel also messed up the bill. I reserved my room with the Myrtle beach package which included self-parking; however, I was still charged for parking and had to call/stop by the front desk multiple times to have the charge removed. I was also not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. There were spots on the toilet and I found a paper coffee cup in the minifridge, which I suppose was left by the previous guest staying in my room. To be fair, I must add that the oceanfront king room was spacious and had a good-sized balcony with a nice view of the Atlantic.
