We travelled from Las Vegas. Had a reservation for a night to see a concert in Los Angeles. We were there at 2pm, was told by the person at the front desk that they don't do early check in. We waited up to 4pm, our room was not ready. We were told it MAYBE ready in 20 minutes, not sure. We are family of 4 with my husband that have a chronic back pain which the drive alone gave him a hard time because of his situation. Imagine not being able to rest for straight 13 hours? We left Vegas at 3 am because we don’t wanna get caught in California traffic. 4:20pm- OUR ROOM IS NOT READY. Until I have to talk to the person at the front desk and have to explain how late it was. She said the room is not ready and cannot give me a definite time when it will be available. Said they have another room which is different from what I have reserve. It was a smaller room. I I took the offer with $50 discount. I think the service was terrible. The person at the front desk didn’t even care to update us with the status of our room while we were waiting in the lobby. It was a day of frustration. Will not recommend this hotel.

Great service, staff was nice and helpful if needed. Needed some extra blankets and stuff late at night after a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, staff was all over it. Great water pressure in the shower too. Highly recommend.

We arrived at 1am having contacted the hotel twice to advise of this. The room we were given was not clean- see picture as the bathroom sink was. Full of fried on dirt/ sand/ something dreadful. The hotel moved us but when doing so sent security and someone else to look verify what we said was correct. That felt awful Pre check in I had contacted the hotel twice about the late arrival time but no notes were kept which was disappointing. The room designs are not user friendly- the bathroom door is a sliding door that was too heavy for me to move. The shower door will not stay open so you need some strength to keep it open whilst you step in. As the initial impressions were so bad and the hotel clearly does not check that rooms are ready I would not recommend. If you need to be in this area there seems to be an abundance of hotels to choose from. There is also no means to contact the hotel manager to provide feedback so I had to use the generic Marriott process and wait 7 days for a response by which time I will be back home.

The Courtyard Los Angeles L.A. Live was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. The staff are extremely kind and courteous, helping us make our stay exceptionally seamless and restful. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and beautifully designed with plenty of space, comfortable beds, and sofas. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown LA, and very close to public transportation and easy access to Ubers/Lyfts. Although downtown LA can be daunting for tourists, the hotel was secure and I felt safe coming back late at night. It was very quiet at night and the whole experience was great.
