Comfort Suites Valdosta Mall Area

We checked in March 18, checked out on March 19, 2026. Rm# 219 Comfort Suites Valdosta 1332 N Saint Augustine Rd Valdosta, Georgia The hotel was clean. The desk staff was great. The room was big. Just like most of the reviews 4 -5 stars. However, I can not give it a good review. We arrived, like stated. everything looked great. We checked into our room, settled in, very happy. I went down to the car to get something. There was a man outside the room, taking a picture of the room door next to us. Did not think much of it, thought maybe he was sending a picture to his wife assuming she may be coming along later or down stairs. I went to the elevator, the man approached me, and started some BS conversation asking me how much a room costs at this hotel, gee what about this weather. We went down in the elevator with him. I just let it go, and went to the car. At about 8:00 pm. my wife and I smelled what seemed like the smell of raw marijuana, very strong. The doors in the hotel make quite a bit of noise if just left to close on their own. The opening and banging of that particular door, went on most of the night at intervals of about 20 minutes. My wife never slept. I made mention of it to the desk clerk when we checked out the next morning. No comment, just a smirk. I have no real proof. Other than, I do know what raw marijuana smells like, I have no problem with people smoking it at home, growing it at home, giving it to friends. However, I do have a problem with the people that maybe involved coming and going in a public place, like a hotel. We will never stay there again, and have passed this on to the Valdosta police.

Due to an unexpected issue, I had to leave one day earlier than planned. While I understand that policies may apply, what stood out most was the lack of willingness to help. At no point did the staff try to find an alternative solution, such as transferring the unused night to another date or another hotel location. There was a clear lack of understanding and goodwill in handling the situation. In addition, my room was not cleaned on any day during my stay. Housekeeping is a basic service that guests naturally expect, and the fact that it was not provided made the experience even worse. Overall, the service lacked flexibility, empathy, and attention to basic hospitality standards. I expected a much more customer-oriented approach.

It's a little tricky to find this hotel set back with some others just off I-75, but when I pulled in it was familiar. So glad to be back ~ this property pays attention to detail. The desk clerk recognized my gold status & offered the appropriate amenities. They had several luggage carts so there was no waiting. The room was spacious & quiet, featured a microwave & refrigerator WITH small freezer for cooler blocks (many are eliminating the freezer section which is a pain if you travel with a cooler), and the bed comfortable. The shower had the curved rods so the curtain doesn't grab you, the tub had non-slip flooring and the towels were newer & fluffy. Small things, but they added up to one tired but happy traveler. Thanks, Choice ~ based on this experience, I'm going to start building up my points again. (And breakfast was excellent as well!)

Our room was very clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming to us. I was acknowledged a member. The breakfast was sufficient and hot.

Great value and very clean hotel with a great breakfast. The greatest part was the breakfast lady Angela. She was kind and gracious and super efficient and served us beautifully
