"A Cheap, No-Frills and Fun Family Hotel"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 17, 2019 NEW
We travelled to Circus Circus with our family of 4 (2 kids ages 3 and 5) and choose the hotel purely because it was filled with kid’s activities (such as circus shows daily, indoor theme park) and more recently a $9.5 million pool renovation occurred. A bonus was the cheap price for the rooms per night. We did read many reviews hence were unsure of what to get. Overall for the price paid we were satisfied with the room, pool area and kid’s activities and would recommend it for families as long as you can accept it is a no-frills hotel. I arrived solo to this hotel with my 2 kids (my husband was joining us later), the Uber helped us unload our luggage to the side. We had a lot of luggage (2 suitcases, 2 car seats, 2 suitcases, 3 backpacks, and a handbag) and I looked for staff who could assist with the luggage and no one was around. The line for check-in was long, however, it moved quickly, and I had my key in no time. The staff was lovely and have been trained to provide a short and sharp service. We somehow managed to lug our own luggage to the room and is an experience the kids and I laugh about. The room was clean and spacious. There are only basic amenities included and no fridge or coffee/tea facilities. We were on the 31st floor in the west tower and we could overlook the town, it was beautiful in the evenings to see the lights and the mountain in the background. It was disappointing that we paid a decent resort fee however Wi-Fi was only available in the rooms and not throughout the complex (such as the pool area). The pool area is amazing, and they did a great job with the renovation and worth staying a couple of nights just for the pool. There are 3 different types of water slides (2 of the slides the height limit is 48 inch and the other 1 42 inches), a water park for the kids and 2 swimming pools and spas. We had lots of fun swimming and playing, as there were lots of kids my children made friends and played with others. I found the pool I felt was not to be the cleanest (due to the number of people using it) and also that people left towels on the chairs when they finished so at times we found chairs unavailable hence would have been great to have people cleaning the areas. The hotel offers a complementary circus shows throughout the day which go for 10 to 15 minutes and the kids thoroughly enjoyed, next to the circus arena is midway with carnival games that were fun. There is adventure dome which is an extra cost where you can go on rides, play arcade games as well as other extras such as roller skating. There is definitely a lot to do for the kids. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is average when you walk through it is stuffy and the carpet looks like it needs a clean. The shops are well priced (especially when I compare it to the strip) and there is lots of nice food options walking distance. The location is further from the strip (however we spent 5 nights on the main strip and then 4 nights here for the kids), so it did not bother us that were not on the strip and were enjoyed the quieter and family-friendly aspect of the hotel. Also, we found everything so much cheaper here than the strip. This hotel is great to stay as long as you can look past the old and dated hotel generally, the low-level service of the hotel and accept it is off the strip. The kids will have fun and you can do as long as you choose to make the most of it. 4 days here was enough for us.

For Circus Circus to charge around $250 (including taxes and fees) for a double queen in the manor tower I should at least be provided some coffee/tea, and at least discount coupons for their restaurants that's worth more than 10% off. MGM should be ashamed.

Was awoken by two armed security guards and removed from my room and told I was supposed to have checked out this morning. They "pinned" my door so I couldn't get back in with my belongings still in the room. They said upon check in I should have checked my receipt and would have known then that they had it wrong. She said I shouldn't have assumed they had my reservation right. Even though I showed her my email confirmation which had me here through tomorrow. She was rude and the manager was even less helpful. Then they charged me more than the original price when I booked. I have never received such poor customer service in my life. Plenty of other places to stay in Vegas, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

"$239 for one night, was worth about $39"

Buffet was absolutely disgusting, I have NEVER eaten anywhere bad in my life, only the canned peas and olives were tolerable. I literally spit up 6 things in napkins. $21 per adult, we left with empty stomachs and lost our appetite for about 6 hours. Great for weight loss.

"Kids had fun but this hotel needs a lot of work"

Adventuresome was a good value with the $5 /ticket hotel guest discount. Hard to find breakfast or lunch for under $30 for family of two small boys and two adults... and that was just coffees, milks and pastries. Carpets are old and dirty. Water slide and splash pad was great fun for all of us!
