"Hood rat hotel"
June 2017
Bed was disgusting. everything was overpriced. we had a small thermal bag with our babies milk cheese sticks juice and chips and the pool guy said we couldn't have any coolers whatsoever at the pool. Very inconvenient for people with small children the elevators took forever to work and they expect you to go to the 9th floor to get snacks and milk for your children. And the only reason they do that is so they can sell you their overpriced alcohol and water and $3 hot dogs. Pool was fun for the kids. But could be better. Maybe water cannons that actually shoot water instead of just drip water out of them. Door to our room would not open. Had to go all the way down to the front desk and had a maintenance man come open the door. it was painted shut .took 15 minutes to get into the parking deck due to all the rental scooters blocking the road. Had to keep your children very close due to no one following traffic rules . scooters were driving on the sidewalk going in between cars driving very recklessly and not a single cop in sight. I saw three ladies twerking at the front entrance to the hotel on the way in my five year old son asked me if those ladies were sick .very inappropriate. One of the girls titties popped out of her bra right in front of my son I would not recommend taking your small children here. Door keys would stop working and it would take 20 swipes to get the door open. there were some good things here but they are not worth mentioning due to all the bad. The staff at the breakfast buffet were very nice but the employees at their gecko restaurant are extremely rude. there's other stuff but I'm tired of writing I would recommend staying somewhere further down the beach at a calmer area. Entire Hotel smelled like skunk weed. people were smoking so much weed you could see clouds of it in the hallway my wife even witnessed a drug deal go down in the parking garage right in front of our car

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The floor in our room was a tad bit grimy, but besides that our room seemed really clean. We had a problem with condensation forming on our room floor and creating puddles, which was really bothersome. Maybe because we were in a room close to the pool? I don’t know, but I would suggest bringing flip flops to wear in your room unless you want to blast the AC your whole stay. The balcony door was very difficult to use, but the balcony view was wonderful! We also had a couple issues with an employee barging in our room one afternoon and another (security guard) waking us up for no reason after midnight, but otherwise the staff we encountered were friendly. The water amenities were our favorite part of our stay. We were able to access all the pools at Captains Quarters and were able to use the pools at the sister property a block or two away. Some of the surfaces around the hotel are old and worn, but everything was pretty clean. Great location on the beach with lots of nearby shops and restaurants.

We had a slight issue with our room door and maintenance was there immediately to fix it. We declined room service but were able to get anything we needed by calling or visiting the front desk. Pools were great and there were not a lot of people so social distancing was easy. Loved our bartender at the Thirsty Turtle (Jasmine), she recommended drinks that went down way too easy :) and was knowledgeable about the area which helped us decide on where to eat dinner. Level 6 was great for the kids and Libby in the bar/restaurant area was great, best wings I have had since moving from Florida. Though parts were definitely dated, we would absolutely recommend the resort as a family vacation spot, all the staff were helpful and went out of their way to help.

This place needs to be updated and they need to buy new linen. The linen was so stained I went to buy my own. This is not a family friendly hotel. I constantly smelled weed around the property. There are signs around the pool that state no coolers but guest had coolers with glass bottles. Two kids cut their feet on glass and the staff did nothing. Other guest even blasted music with offensive language around the pool and again the hotel staff did nothing. If you are young without kids this would be great but don't bring your family to this place!

Dirtiest hallway i have ever seen. This hotel is extremely run down. The only nice thing was the beach and pool area. The owners should really be concerned.the cleaning staff didnt do much. Overflowing trash in the hallways, elevators filthy!

This place had a very nice pool area. The hallways were very dirt, old worn furniture, elevators were filthy and falling apart. Our room smelled like pot and there were pieces of it on the sofa bed. The room did not smell clean, I am not sure what they use to disinfect but I had to clean my room myself. This hotel needs a good update and a deep clean.
