"Hood rat hotel"
June 2017
Bed was disgusting. everything was overpriced. we had a small thermal bag with our babies milk cheese sticks juice and chips and the pool guy said we couldn't have any coolers whatsoever at the pool. Very inconvenient for people with small children the elevators took forever to work and they expect you to go to the 9th floor to get snacks and milk for your children. And the only reason they do that is so they can sell you their overpriced alcohol and water and $3 hot dogs. Pool was fun for the kids. But could be better. Maybe water cannons that actually shoot water instead of just drip water out of them. Door to our room would not open. Had to go all the way down to the front desk and had a maintenance man come open the door. it was painted shut .took 15 minutes to get into the parking deck due to all the rental scooters blocking the road. Had to keep your children very close due to no one following traffic rules . scooters were driving on the sidewalk going in between cars driving very recklessly and not a single cop in sight. I saw three ladies twerking at the front entrance to the hotel on the way in my five year old son asked me if those ladies were sick .very inappropriate. One of the girls titties popped out of her bra right in front of my son I would not recommend taking your small children here. Door keys would stop working and it would take 20 swipes to get the door open. there were some good things here but they are not worth mentioning due to all the bad. The staff at the breakfast buffet were very nice but the employees at their gecko restaurant are extremely rude. there's other stuff but I'm tired of writing I would recommend staying somewhere further down the beach at a calmer area. Entire Hotel smelled like skunk weed. people were smoking so much weed you could see clouds of it in the hallway my wife even witnessed a drug deal go down in the parking garage right in front of our car

This is a nice place to stay in housekeeping was not perfect but great the staff are very friendly and welcoming upon arrival the place was busy I rammed it have one broken cabinet but overall the kids experience was great they had a great time with the staff and children's activities there was a blue shark that was walking around the facility greeting the kids and dancing with them which really made the trip we would stay there again.

We absolutely loved our stay! Check in was a bit busy but everyone worked hard and efficiently to keep things moving. Our room in the main building was everything we expected. Our second room at Ocean Inn did have a roach problem and we wouldn’t get a room there again. Housekeeping was on top of things and while the building is a bit dated it was clean and orderly. The pools were a little small but with several to choose from it worked out very well. We would have liked to have more tubes available for use at the lazy rivers but we were able to use a tube for the adults on a few occasions. All in all the water amenities are plentiful and with kids ranging from three up to 15 there was enough to keep them busy and happy! Well done Captain’s Quarters! I’m giving a 4 instead of 5 because of the issues at Ocean Inn but the main building scores a 5 for sure!

"Overcrowded, overbooked, inadequate parking."

You can barely expect seating while visiting the pool. And no coolers allowed in the pool areas. Must bring on drink at a time, or buy there very overpriced drinks. (Don’t worry there are at least two “security guards” keeping the law during pool hours). They do have multiple elevators (very small and used by staff). Parking garage is to small for the size of hotel(6’8” maximum height), and parking is very tight, don’t expect to get through a week without a dent or scratch on your vehicle. And the outside upper deck parking garage, the lights are not in working order, so walking to you vehicle is an adventure. There are two ice machines but as of 8/17/2019 only one is operational. All this being said this is a perfect spot, for a small group, who doesn’t like ice, who’s car is dented already, who can see in the dark, who likes waiting ten+minutes for elevator service, who doesn’t need a seat by the pool, with one drink before you have to go back to your room, or purchase the house mixes( from the guy that claims he only works there weekends, because his real job is bartender at an actual resort). If this is have found the place for you.

"Family Beach Trip to Captain’s Quarters"

We stayed at Captains Quarters for the 2nd time. Customer Service is always great! Checkin is a little slow with the long lines. The rooms are a good value. However, it’s a gamble because you don’t know what floor you are going to get when you book online, the upper floors have the better views. Cleanliness in the rooms is the only issue I have with this resort. The rooms are clean but not to my expectations. The floors need to be swept better. We are at the beach but more effort needs to be made in sweeping the sand off the floors. The amenities are great! The breakfast at level 9 makes the stay worth while!

This is my family’s first time staying at Captain’s Quarters and it will probably be our last. The rooms are depicted on the website as upgraded, however the furniture was dated and the rooms didn’t appear to be clean. Our sink and shower were stopped up, we called maintenance and it wasn’t until the third call that David and got the job done. He was great!! He also noticed our air wasn’t working properly. He changed the filter and reset the unit. The floors felt disgusting due to the condensation coming from the air unit. When we checked in, one of our pillows had a foot print on it not to mention the blankets had hair on it. I felt so disgusted while staying at this hotel. I guess trying to save a few dollars wasn’t worth it staying here. Sandy Beach is our usual hotel and I guess we will return there next year.
