"Another Hilton stay to use a quarterly Amex Biz Platinum credit"

I wanted to like this hotel so very much, but unfortunately my actual experience there did not allow that to happen. In its favor, the hotel located in a very historic building. It has a wonderful location for walking to things in Center City Philadelphia, including nearby Reading Terminal Market and restaurants in Chinatown. The hotel has a Federal Donuts & Chicken restaurant right smack in its lobby, which is a huge plus for lovers of a tasty chicken sandwich. Now for the negatives. The shower temperature set to as hot as possible at 6:30 a.m. on a weekday was lukewarm at best. The bathroom sink drained VERY SLOWLY, which was a big annoyance. Since my stay was for just one night, I reported this maintenance issue at checkout in the hope of sparing the next guest a similar experience. The room size was very much on the small side, despite having received a complimentary upgrade, which I guess only meant a room on a higher floor. And the bed was a bit softer than I prefer, although to be fair I had a great night's sleep. I thought the hotel had a nice design and that the my room and the floor where it was located were also nicely decorated. My room had an excellent, powerful air conditioning system and good lighting, although the work desk was a little on the smaller side. The open closet area was also a bit small, because the luggage rack has your luggage sitting on the bottom of the open closet area. I grabbed breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and it was good, although they omitted one of the ingredients from my omelette that was listed on the menu. They did offer a free side salad to make up for that, which was nice. Amazingly, the cost for a hot breakfast for one exceeded two-times the Hilton Gold daily food credit of $15. Despite this hotel's great location and eye-catching design, the small size of its rooms and the lukewarm shower were two deal-breakers for me that will likely have me looking to stay elsewhere the next time I am returning to this area.

Stayed here the night of the Metallica concert. This hotel is awesome! Centrally located to restaurants and sight-seeing. Easy to get to (I did not park there, I took the subway); very convenient to transit options. Bed and pillows were superb. Soft pillows, soft mattress. Windows all around the room. Filtered water available down the hall (a nice touch). BIG room, also. I'd definitely stay here again!

Such a great hotel!! Great beds. Great staff. We are in a lot of hotels and both me and my daughter wish they were always this awesome! Comfortable. Close to the convention center. Walking distance to great restaurants. Staff is very attentive. I’d 10 out of 10 recommend this hotel.

Check-in was smooth, and the room and room design and decor was nice. Appreciated the water filtration system on the floor with the ability to refill the water bottle from the room. It was thoughtful for the hotel to reach out twice during our stay to see if we had any requests. The hotel location was great, and we easily walked to Reading Terminal Market, drugstores, City Hall, Independence Hall, and the Academy of Music to see a show. We were on the second floor and heard some music/noise from below at night, so we’ll ask for a higher floor the next time.
