Best Western Inn & Suites San Diego Zoo/SeaWorld Area in San Diego, CA

My husband and I traveled to San Diego for a few days and stayed at this Best Western. We had an Accessible - 2 Queen room on the 4th floor. The wide door way to the bathroom and plentiful grab bars worked well. There is a separate bathroom vent fan. The hallway and room were fresh smelling even though the breakfast area is on the same floor. The room was clean. The room heater was not too loud. The bed was comfortable and there were 4 pillows on each bed. There was a noise issue because this room was on the freeway side of the building and there was a lot of road traffic. Luckily, I always travel with ear plugs and my husband can sleep through a lot of noise. Unfortunately, we also could hear the water quite loudly in the pipes when neighboring room flushed the toilet. I would recommend asking for a room away from the freeway. There was a blockage in the bathtub so the shower was not draining, we went to the front desk in the morning to report it. It had not been fixed by the time we returned at the end of the day, so we asked that a maintenance person be requested to take care of it ASAP which they did. Breakfast: This Best Western did not include make-your-own waffles or fresh oatmeal. It did have hard boiled eggs, Cheerios, yogurt, and plentiful 2% milk so we were good with that. The location was very convenient for visiting SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. Even though we had to pay for parking, I found that the overall cost at this hotel was less than other places with free parking.

There were a couple of hiccups but Ashley was amazing in making sure that we were taken care of! The beds were comfortable. The shower was great pressure and great temperature. breakfast was amazing! there were several places that we were able to order delivery and although we had to go downstairs to get it I liked the added security feature!

The customer service and hospitality that I received at the Best Western was truly exceptional, and not something you find at every other hotel. From Jessica's warm smile and outgoing conversation with me during check-in, to Front Office Manager, Vebi's professionalism and kindness, it's no wonder it feels like home here, because everyone is genuinely happy to be working there. The room itself was delightful - A.C works great, the bed feels like you're sleeping on a CLOUD (I snoozed my way through 3 alarms, so that says it all!) My room had a bath-tub, so that was nice and relaxing, and having a microwave + fridge is always great. Breakfast was included which was a plus- and parking was super accessible as well. The hotel is right off the freeway too, making it super easy to get to work & grab a bite on the way back! I didn't experience any issues with my room, but even if I had, they run a pretty tight ship there so I know any request would have been expedited. Overall, I will say, in San Diego you'll find all types of hotels, from low end, to high end, resorts and boutiques...but if you want to be treated like FAMILY, as opposed to just another room number for the night, then make a reservation here and experience it for yourself! At this Best Western you have a name, you are valued as a guest and genuinely taken care of all around. Shoutout to Jessica, front desk - for being so sweet and knowledgeable from the moment I walked in and then following up with a phone call to ensure I was happy with my room. Shoutout to the Housekeeping Manager, Mevlide R. for making sure my room was perfect prior to my arrival, to overnight security guard, Bexhet R. for his friendliness and great conversation every time we ran into each other. And most important, thank you to Vebi Rexhepi for setting the standard on how people should be treated all the time - regardless of membership tiers or status. This hotel and your team have won the lottery having you as their primary leader; and the dedication and values you have implemented to them is what makes you stand out from everyone else. We only needed the room/suite to sleep, shower and have breakfast. Otherwise, we left the property each day. It’s a remodeled older property with old elevators. The rooms were clean but needed minor repairs such as paint touch ups, newer toilets, etc. Towels were dingy. As far as service, it was five stars. Staff was nice and had our room tidy when we got back. Breakfast was generous, being open for 4 hours. They have a security guard overnight to watch over the parking, so I didn’t mind the parking fee. However the homeless still made their way onto benches on the property by morning and smoking their Mary Jane’s. It’s not the Hilton but if you’re there to just sleep, shower and have breakfast, it is suitable. It’s hard to find a Hotel these days that just nails it unless you want to drop a thou for 3 nights.

Two Items: 1. Special thanks to Jesica at the desk, 2:00 pm November 23. She was great. Terrific personality and made us feel real welcome. 2. Problem with the toilet: Commode was too small. Very uncomfortable to use. Other than the horrible toilet, we enjoyed our stay.
