Beach Club at Montego Inn in Myrtle Beach, SC

The positive aspect of this site is that the beach was literally steps away with no crossing of roads. The parking lot was also on site and not across the road like a lot of places at Myrtle Beach. The negatives..... The room was dirty. In less than a couple of hours, the bottoms of our feet were black. There was sand on the floor. The bathroom had hair on the floors and in the shower. It would take a lot for me to stay here again. We did not check in the first day as I have a week's timeshare at a time. Because of this, they assumed we were not coming and had repaired a piece of wall. There is not a soul on site if you arrive after 5pm so we got our paper from a general box outside of the check-in site with our room key and parking pass. There was no one there to repair our shower so we could not shower until after the office open the next day. We walked into blowers full blast from where they'd cut out a piece of wall due to damage and replaced it. We had to move those to the kitchen area to get past the bedroom. The noise level was horrendous! You can forget sleeping well here. We were so exhausted because neither of us got a good night of rest it was so loud between other guests and hotel staff. It is also frustrating because you have to take out and empty your own trash, place all linen in the bathroom, and make sure all dishes are clean and items are just like you arrived. Hopefully, this will help you make a better decision in your stay choice at Myrtle Beach.

The place is very dated inside. Bathrooms are tiny. The second bedroom has one door, no windows, so in a fire pretty limited escape options. The door to the hall bathroom doesn't close easily. The only real plus, it is on the beach.

Reserved the room 13-14 months before we traveled. Still ended up in an "ocean view" rather than ocean front. Very dissapointed. The parking is extremely tight, They limit each room to one car, which we did manage to get a second parking pass. The rooms and furnishings are extremely dated. Cooled by window unit ACs that are far from quiet. No dishwasher, the main bed was on a frame that was a little too wide. The box spring kept calling off if we sat down wrong causing the head to lower and feet elevate. The pool is small, laundry on the 4th floor consists of 2 coin operated washers and 2 coin operated dryers. Labeled $1.50, they actually cost $2. You can use an app to pay, but, having downloaded the app, I deposited $1.50 & a service charge, then had to download more with another service charge to dry our bathing suits and towels. Speaking of towels, the ones provided in the bathrooms are tiny and not overly soft. The hallway bathroom door doesn't close well, you have to lift the knob as you pull it shut. This is the kind of place I'd have gone as a very young man with limited funds. As a senior, I prefer a much higher end facility.

Enjoyed the locality. Nice pool, and beach access. Flowers and bushes are gorgeous. Would have been nice to have a dishwasher, washer and dryer. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Small 1 bedroom. Office closed on Sunday so guests left to check in my calling and then using lock box to get keys. No bell hops. Luggage racks if you run around and look for them. We were lucky to get into our room. Not your grandmother's decor.. your great grandma. Horrible. Sleeper sofa was torture devise. Outside well maintained. Right on beach.
