Baymont by Wyndham Hot Springs On the Lake in Hot Springs, AR

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I do not know how anyone could give this hotel a 10. There were so many issues with this place. When I entered parking lot I thought it might have closed because there were only a couple of cars in the lot and dead plants near the entrance and outdoor furniture off to the side in a pile. Surprislingly, the lobby was nicely decorated. My room was on the 4th floor (403) and had lake view. Upon entry, it was visibly dated. Some furniture was damaged. The fridge was loud and the toilet was running. The screen to the balcony was falling apart. There was a large crack/crease on the wall. The entire room was in need of repairs. I stayed in the room one night but the next day upon returning to the hotel after being away for about 6 hours, houskeeping had not been to room even though they saw me leave and asked if I was leaving. I told them yes and they could clean the room while I went to my appointment. I called the front desk and told them of the situation. He was professional about it and switched my room (419). The room was dated but at least toilet did not run and fridge was quiet. However, the room was not clean. There was a bottle cap on the floor and a pair of shorts hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I was unable to lock front door and had to use the 'latch' to keep the door from being opened. The ventilator in the bathrooms for both rooms was always on and could not be turned off. Curtains in the room had holes. The outside space in the back is a mess. Cushions were thrown all around. Pool is empty but has green standing water at bottom. Litter and debris in water along shore line. Breakfast is disappointing. Pancake machine was broken the entire 5 days I was there. Corporate is really lacking and this place needs new management. Apparently, the place is running on a shoestring budget and/or doesn't care. It has so much potential. It needs to close for a few weeks and bring in a crew to do much needed repairs and make the place visibly appealing. The only thing positive is the view of the lake and proximity.

We booked our room as a stop on a long road trip. The rates were great and it was on the lake. When we checked in we were pleasantly surprised with our large room. This is an older hotel that has been tastefully redone while retaining the original charm. If the weather is good, the large patio in back is a great place to relax. They have fire pits for cooler nights and sell wine by the bottle at the hotel. We are planning to return in the future.

Hotel was clean with easy access and parking. Staff was very friendly. My room had a fridge AND microwave AND coffee pot. Very comfortable.

Exceptional customer service, staff is friendly, breakfast is very good. Rooms were clean and had every amenity we needed. Overall 5⭐️ from me for sure
