We were stuck in Branson in the snow storm. Stayed at this hotel for couple of nights. Employees were nice & professional. Breakfast was very good with omelet made in front of us. Color schemes were modern & looked good. Will stay here again if visiting Branson again.

"Doors won't lock!"

We stayed at the baymont thousand hills from Dec 21st-26th. My 3 teenage kids and I decided we wanted to go somewhere instead of staying home for Christmas My husband unexpectedly passed away and christmas just doesn't feel the same anymore. When we arrived, checkin was fast and efficient. We drove around the building and parked near our room #114. As we walked up to the door I was getting the key to the door and my son twisted the handle and the door just opened... ummm that's weird. I walked in and checked things out... seemed fine. We unload all the luggage. Rest for a bit and then change clothes and get ready for our show that evening.. we leave the room and the door won't lock! We try over and over.. nothing so not knowing what to do I make the kids pack everything back up and load it in the car. We go to the show..( the haygoods were amazing! ) come back to the motel and stop by the front desk to get another room. I want a different room but The man tells me there is nothing wrong with the lock and walks to the room with me, that is still unlocked and shows me I need to slam the door... really really hard. I'm feeling kinda dumb so we unload everything again and go to bed. We flew across the country and were exhausted. The next morning we leave for the day, slam the door with all our might and it locks... we go enjoy our full day and come back around dinner time... walk to the door...yup unlocked! I'm frustrated, I'm bugged, I call the office. I speak to a lady and explain the situation. I tell her this is not ok and I want a new room. She says they don't have any but she will write a note to the housekeepers and make sure they slam the door. She apologizes and keeps saying this is a safe area your stuff will be fine...ummm not the point! I have medication, money, etc in the room and I felt like it was a violation of privacy. We go to bed... another full day at silver dollar city. Get back exhausted, cold but happy around 1030pm. As we are pulling up my kids joke... what if our door is open again mom...I say it won't be! Surprise surprise it is! I am now angry. I walk to the front desk... door is locked with a note to call... I call and ask for them to come speak to me. They don't but the guy Listens as I tell him I don't feel safe. I am a single woman with children and this is the 3rd time I've came back to an unlocked room. He finally offers a new room but it's after 11pm by his time and the thought of packing everything up right now is not happening. I tell him I'll sleep there tonight as the lock works from the inside and he tells me he will personally go double check or door after housekeeping tomorrow. I tell him I'll switch rooms in the morning. ( I was never offered a different room in the morning) In the morning we leave for the day, we come back around 3 for a break and our room is locked! Woohoo! But as we open the door we realize housekeeping has only done about 1/4 of the things they normals do. Only one bed made...towels left by the TV, garbage was removed but floor needed swept etc. So I'm like did he got come and tell housekeeping to leave so he could lock the door? Weird! From that point on I just kept or do not disturb sign on the door and made or own beds etc. On Christmas day, we were staying in the room and relaxing with the do not disturb sign up. Housekeeping knocked..i answered and told her we didn't need housekeeping and i just needed garbage bags to bag our trash. She have me the bags and left... she then came back 2 more times that day...it was strange. We just bagged our trash and threw it away in the outside dumpster...we hung up and just reused the towels. It was a pain but security felt better than someone else making your bed. When we checked out there was no apology, no discount, or even a recognition that there was a problem. There were good things... loved that there was no carpet, the fridge was way bigger than most hotel fridge which was nice. Microwave was a plus. Free Breakfast was good. But the cons... door issues, housekeeping issues, no storage at all, and the fact that every morning at breakfast we were asked if we had our phones so they could help us write a review of the motel was too much. As a side note now that Im home I realize I should of done things differently.. I'm the future I would not take no for an answer on a new room, I would change motels if need be etc. I would of put the do not disturb sign up way before day 3. But this was the first time we had traveled without our husband/ dad and so I wasn't as confident in myself as I should of been. Lesson learned.
