Atlanta Marriott Suites Midtown

Great place to relax and recover during 3 days of Shaky Knees Music festival. We were walking distance from the festival so didn't have to deal with parking or rideshares. Staff was friendly and responsive even at 6am when we had to get the car and go to a cross country meet. Suite was roomy even with our 17 year old sleeping on the pullout couch. Overall great stay and look forward to staying there again for a future adventure.

The property is in good shape, the rooms are spacious and the Staff Members are “EXCELLENT”! Everyone from the Front Desk, the Valets, and the staff in the Bar and Restaurant go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The Georgia Tech Campus is easily accessible from this location. On days of football games, you can take 14th street over to State St. and access the campus and parking garages while avoiding the congestion on 10th Street. Also when leaving games, it’s a quick exit using this route and avoiding all of the roadblocks and congestion around 10th street.

Me and my friends were attending an event in Atlanta, we drove 2.5 hours and after one night we decided to stay another! My friend went down to reception to ask could we have one more night and they happily said of course, we were unfortunately charged more than previously but I understand last minute ect Someone came to the room and asked if we needed more towels or linen, we took the towels and said we didn’t need the room cleaned, afew hours passed and we were ready to leave but on the way out the door we heard the phone, we answered and it was reception telling us they double booked the room and they needed us to leave, this was a massive inconvenience and for that we were told we’d have a free upgrade. I would have thought the party that originally booked the room would deserve that and they wouldn’t let us give it away. So we packed up all our things, meaning the Marriott staff would have to clean another room, we’d have to pack all of our things and move up 5 floors, this was so frustrating as we were all ready to leave and in good spirits, it ruined our day to be honest, When we got to the room up stairs it was far from an upgrade, the room was considerably smaller with one less bed, this leaving us having to have two men sharing an uncomfortable sofa bed with 1 pillow and a thin over the knee blanket. we paid more money than originally for one less double bed, a balcony door that would not open and an extra 5 floors away. We were rightly so gutted and sad, We now seen why they would not let the new party have the upgrade, because it didn’t exist, when we tried to resolve this or ask why they lied about the room being an upgrade we spoke to Christopher at the desk, he was very sweet and understand but unfortunately his superior was the total opposite, he was dismissive, rude and far from helpful. He wouldn’t even try to help us and when we asked him what would have happened if we had of left 30 seconds earlier he told us he would have locked us out of our room with all of our personal belongings. Choosing a hotel to rest and relax is hard and you need to trust them with access to your room that has wallets, purses, sentimental items ect, to threaten to take these all away is completely and utterly ridiculous. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel and the same goes for the attitude of Jesse Andrews. I hope to never lay eyes on him again as he ruined our stay.

Pros: ridiculously spacious suite, friendly staff, decent exercise room, not far from MARTA, decent restaurant selection in the area. Cons: rock-hard mattress, freezing cold A/C vent points straight at bed, sagging couch, surprising lack of useful surfaces to put things on, carpet (and room) smelled vaguely of feet. Hard-to-use, tiny coffee pod/tea boiler.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The location is perfect—right in Midtown and close to Piedmont Park, great restaurants, and nightlife. The staff was super friendly and made me feel welcome the whole time. My room was clean, modern, and had a great city view. The bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up! Overall, it’s a stylish hotel with a great vibe and the perfect spot to enjoy Atlanta. I’d definitely stay here again!
