"What year are the 4th floor rooms from? Insulting to guests"

Look, if you're here for the skiing - I can kind of get it. We weren't; it was October. And I felt ashamed for having picked this place for my family on a quick Alaska trip. There were positives - the pool was nice; the restaurants seemed somewhat more updated; some effort was put into some parts of the property. But - I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that was this dated in the room. It was kept quite clean (ie, the bathtub was pure white), but the dated decor, scruffed-up furniture and walls, the lack of outlets, the elevators that smelled, the weird push-button lights...it's just depressing? My mattress literally felt like it was collapsing; it was impossible to sleep well. And as someone who stays in a lot of hotels...I'm not that picky (i thought). My wife compared it to a Chinese state hotel of 15, 20 years ago (which similarly, were a product of the 90s...as it seems like this place was too). I had some flashbacks of Japan maybe 10 years ago as well - that same keeping things well past their prime, though maintaining well. But - in America for this price? I just can't justify it. Drive back to Anchorage, stay in a guesthouse in Girdwood, camp maybe... As an owner, I just don't know how you can wait this long to rennovate rooms. It's insulting to the guests.

"Staff very mediocre"

Location is great Staff not particularly helpful. After reading reviews and realizing that prices had dropped we contacted the hotel and asked to make sure we got an updated room. Room was comfortable but everything was minimal. 2 sugars 2 creamer packets and 2 tea bags. 2 washcloths. When prices are this much I expect a little fluff. When we asked about hikes nearby they just said go out the automatic doors and it’s there. Nope. Not there and signage really lacking. Pool was great trail(once found) was really wonderful. On checkout same attitude- we had to ask for receipt. Never offered

"Exceeded my expectations"

Spent two mid-week nights in a Signature King on the third floor of this lovely hotel during the first week of September. Thoroughly loved our stay from check-in to departure. This low-season time period was uncrowded, allowing for an early check-in and negating the need for reservations for the relaxing saltwater indoor pool & hot tub. The Tramway cafe was great for morning coffee and a pastry or yogurt parfait. Our best day was a rainy one; we took the aerial tram to the Mtn Station & hiked Mighty Mite (do have sturdy footwear, rain gear & trekking poles), then enjoyed a beverage at the Bore Tide Deli & Bar. Saw moose in the hotel pond and off Blueberry Hill. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous, I really felt like I was on vacation. This made for an excellent stop between Anchorage and Seward.

If you’re paying 700$ a night for a room and room is not ready at check in time there is something wrong with management . Stayed here for a visit and booked larger room and been waiting for few hours for room

Stopped here just to take the TRAM and well worth the price to do so. Cute bar/grill at the top along with a very high end $$$ restaurant. Views were AMAZING! Hotel looks great but again we just stopped to check it out. Great hiking as well.
