"Overall. It’s awesome!"

It’s 5 star all the way. Beautiful rooms and views, with multiple places to eat and drink. We liked the Forte upscale restaurant as well as the new casual Heartland bar. We did not try the A-Bar. The tram ride to the top of the mountain is conveniently located but it’s $48 pp and the restaurant at the top was closed due to the season. The valet parking is also priced high and self parking is very easy in the lot or nearby. Overall. It’s awesome. VictorB

"Most Disappointing"

This hotel was very disappointing. Staff unhelpful. Never offered assistance in any way. Restaurants did not give you much choice. I am not into fast food. Breakfast was utterly disgusting. Room was not very clean and when they attempted to make the bed they only folded the top sheet back and did not even smooth the bottom sheet out. When the booking is for a coupe how are you suppose to make a coffee with one cup between you also no milk was supplied. When the scenery is so beautiful how can a hotel let guests down with such poor amenities and service. It could be up there with Banff Fairmount without too much effort. The swimming pool and spa pool were lovely but needed a good clean with rotting window frames. I felt so let down by the whole experience.

This resort was a huge disappointment. The rooms are incredibly dated — straight out of the 1980s — and ours even smelled awful. Service throughout the property was equally poor, and nothing about the experience lived up to what you’d expect from a place calling itself a “resort.” Everything here is massively overpriced, from the rooms to the food, and the quality simply doesn’t match the cost. The Japanese restaurant in particular was awful — easily one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had on our trip. Avoid it at all costs. As for activities, don’t expect much beyond hiking. If the weather turns bad (which it often does), you’re pretty much out of luck. Bikes can’t be used on most trails, and to make matters worse, they don’t even offer kids’ bikes — so families are very limited in what they can actually do. Overall, this property feels run-down, out-of-touch, and poorly managed. Between the dated rooms, bad service, lack of meaningful activities, and inflated prices, I would never recommend anyone stay here. Alaska has so many other beautiful places to experience — spend your time and money elsewhere.

After an unexpected cancellation in anchorage, our day was saved by finding a room here. This resort is a beautiful facility in a stunningly beautiful part of Alaska. Wish we had more time here. Lots of creature comforts and plenty to do.
