When is the Best Time to Visit Las Vegas?

If you’re trying to plan a dream vacation to Las Vegas, you’ll need to know the best time to visit. Although the Entertainment Capital of the World showcases over-the-top shows, luxurious accommodations, and, of course, top-tier gambling, it’s overwhelming to determine when you should book that flight or vacation time. Looking for the best weather, most budget-friendly times to visit, and fewer crowds? Use our guide below before you go.

Of course, there are various factors to consider when planning a trip such as work and school schedules, budgets, and travel preferences. To help you save time while planning, decide which factors are most important to meet your travel needs:

When Should I Visit Las Vegas for the Best Weather?

Although each season offers jaw-dropping views of the city and spectacular events, spring or fall are the best times to visit Las Vegas for excellent weather. Late March through May brings average temperatures ranging from the late 40s to high 80s (month by month), so you can pack fairly light.

Guests can enjoy activities outside such as:

Similarly, those visiting in the fall can see temperatures ranging from lows in the late 40s to highs in the high 90s (month by month). Once again, you don’t have to pack heavy winter wear to feel comfortable, even in November. However, crowds begin to pick up once again as winter approaches, so opt for booking earlier in the season.

Because of the cooler temperatures and reasonable room rates due to fewer crowds, you don’t want to miss out on booking a vacation during these prime seasons.

When is the Most Affordable Time to Visit Las Vegas?

Searching for top-rate deals? Once again, spring brings fewer crowds and therefore the best deals on traveling and hotel rates. And, as mentioned earlier, you’re less likely to feel the sweltering heat of the desert sun around this time of year. We still suggest bringing light outerwear just in case, but you can feel free to pack lightly.

To save even more, take time off mid-week, if possible. As Las Vegas brings more crowds on the weekends, you’re bound to find lower rates between Tuesday and Thursday. Also, we suggest checking the city’s tourism board convention schedule to see which hotels are hosting conventions throughout the year to avoid surge pricing.

What Time of Year is Ideal for Families?

Because of the cooler weather and holiday break schedule, winter is the best time to visit Las Vegas for families. You may not consider Sin City as the best family vacation choice, but there is plenty to do aside from gambling. While summer may seem like the obvious vacation time, summer temperatures can range from high 70s to over 100 degrees. With that being said, you can remain indoors or cool off by the pool, but know that everyone else has the same idea.

On the other hand, Las Vegas enjoys festivities like New Year’s Eve events and the big Las Vegas Bowl. Moreover, you can all enjoy popular family-friendly activities such as:

Keep in mind cooler weather and grand holiday events make this season particularly popular, inviting more crowds. We suggest booking traveling and hotel accommodations in advance to secure availability and lower rates. Also, make sure to bring a few layers since temperatures can range from the high 30s to the low 60s (still not too bad, right?).

When is the Best Time to Visit Las Vegas?

In order to avoid crowds and searing temperatures, planning a trip in the spring is the best time to visit Las Vegas. If you go between March and May, the weather will be warm rather than sweltering so you can best enjoy the city sights. Further, flight and hotel prices remain reasonable because of fewer crowds, so you can’t beat visiting during spring.
