State Farm Arena in Atlanta

Atlanta’s State Farm Arena is a multi-purpose indoor stadium and home to the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and WNBA’s Atlanta Dream teams.

Built in 1999, the State Farm Arena was formerly known as the Phillips Arena. Today the stadium is owned by the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority and operated by the Hawks’ owners Tony Ressler and former player Grant Hill.

Location of State Farm Arena

Located in the Centennial Park District of downtown Atlanta, attached to the Omni Atlanta Hotel at the CNN Center, State Farm is surrounded by numerous popular restaurants and hotels in the area. The arena reopened in 2018, following a $192.5 million renovation.

In addition to basketball, the arena hosts UFC wrestling, figure skating, and entertainment venues throughout the year. In 2011 State Farm was ranked the third busiest arena in the U.S., selling over 550,000 concert tickets annually.

Pre NBA game activities include tailgating on the green lawn area of the stadium before every home game. The parking lot opens four hours before kickoff, and the staff encourages ticket holders to arrive early to beat the traffic. Guests are invited to the Game Zone, located in the stadium’s south end area, three hours prior to kickoff.

Community Initiatives

State Farm Arena’s mission is to be “good neighbors, dedicated to helping people and to develop safer, stronger, better-educated communities across the country.” State Farm, alongside the Hawks, has created community initiatives that promote social responsibility.

The State Farm stadium holds 21,000 seats and includes 92 luxury suites, nine party suites, and 1,866 club seats. The arena itself and inside suites are available to rent. The prices range from $4,000 to $9,000 for the Atlanta Social, from $5,000 to $12,000 for the Veranda Suites above the lower bowl, and between $7,000 to $18,000 for loft suites above the Veranda Suites.

Ticket prices for basketball games can go as low as $16. on certain nights and up to $13,000 for courtside seats. Check the website for details. Discounted rates apply for groups and season ticket holders.

Spectators attending events at the State Farm Arena are permitted small purses, fanny packs, or clear plastic bags. All bags must be checked at the designated inspection lanes.
