West Hollywood’s E.P. & L.P. is one of Los Angeles’ must-stop destinations for great vibes, culinary delights, and incredible views.

This scenic restaurant and rooftop bar, E.P. & L.P. Life Cultivated, is named for 7” and 12” vinyl record play lengths. E.P. is music lingo for “Extended Play, and L.P. is short for Long Play. EP is a medium-length album with an average of four to six music tracks, which the LP generally has more than eight tracks.

Botanical Group, a world-class hospitality business for the United States and Australian markets, established E.P. in 2015. Botanical developers/Australian entrepreneurs David Combes and Grant Smillie partnered with investor Axwell of Swedish House Mafia fame to bring E.P. & L.P. to fruition.

Named 'one of the best rooftop bars in Los Angeles,' E.P. & L.P. has a mission to become a one-stop food/drink/theatre destination. The restaurant owners’ philosophy is to “come for a meal and stay for the night.”

The muli-concept idea consists of a Southeast Asian and South Pacific restaurant, an interactive open kitchen, and an intimate chef’s bar on the ground floor. Chef Louis Tikaram’s Asian/American cuisine combined with the lively atmosphere and contemporary music is a sure crowd-pleaser. Chef Tikaram uses fresh California produce for his menu items. In addition, this eclectic menu is sure to delight all pallets with selections such as:

  • crudo sea scallops and grilled octopus
  • main entrée meals that include gnocchi lobster
  • lemon kosho gravy Niman ranch pork chop Schnitzel

Considered one of the largest patios in Los Angeles, the E.P rooftop hosts expansive vistas of the Hollywood Hills and the Sunset Strip. Also, keep in mind, the rooftop bar does not take reservations and has a maximum party size of six guests per table.

Patrons of the E.P. bar can also enjoy the Melrose Rooftop Theatre. This theatre is attached to the E.P. property, which showcases cult classic movies and new releases. The cinema utilizes wireless technology with individual headsets provided to guests.

E.P. has a private parking garage with valet service and a particular dress code. Guests are asked not to wear joggers, sweatpants, beachwear, casual shorts, flip flops, or athletic shoes. E.P. also doesn’t allow personal computing devices.

The E.P. & L.P. restaurant is open daily from 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., while the rooftop bar is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to midnight on the weekends.
