April 26, 2016

Visit these top five Oahu sights on your next Hawaii vacation for true glimpse of paradise!

One of the best parts of an Oahu vacation is soaking up all of the scenic sights on the island.

View from the top of Diamond Head

1Diamond Head: Hike to the top of Diamond Head, also known as Leahi, for iconic panoramic views of Waikiki and Honolulu.  This moderately challenging trail includes two sets of stairs, totaling 175 steps, as well as dark, underground tunnels and old military bunkers. You might huff and puff a bit, but the stunning views that greet you at the top of Diamond Head are well worth the effort. There's a reason it tops my list of must-see Oahu sights.

2)  Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve:  This preserve is one of Oahu’s most popular snorkeling destinations.  Wear your swim suit and enjoy the crystal clear blue waters of the bay.  Rent or bring your own snorkel gear so you can explore the reefs teeming with colorful fish.

3)  Haleiwa:  This historic surf town is the gateway to the legendary North Shore.  More than a laid back surf town, Haleiwa is filled with local style and country ambiance as well as cool surf shops and boutiques, understated restaurants and charming art galleries.

View from the Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Hawaii

4)  Nuuanu Pali Lookout: Take in panoramic views of Windward Oahu and the Koolau Mountain Range.  Drive north on the Pali Highway through tall trees and dense forests to get to the lookout.  Along the way you’ll see the city of Honolulu disappear and the beauty of Hawaii start to unfold.

5)  Waikiki:  Waikiki is most famous for its beaches and every room is just two or three blocks away from the sea.  Once a playground for Hawaii royalty, Waikiki is now an eclectic city filled with high end  shopping, restaurants and a vibrant mix of cultures and people.
