Festive Fun presented at Myrtle Beach Market Common

Market Common in Myrtle Beach is presenting several holiday events throughout the season in order to spread festive cheer throughout the area.

On November 27, 2009, otherwise known as Black Friday, Market Common is presenting Black Friday Festivities and its 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. At 9am, stores will open to shoppers and 100 Black Friday Survival Kits filled with coupons will be presented to the first 100 shoppers in front of the Gordon Biersch Brewery.
During Black Friday, entertainment will be available as well:
11 - 1 pm Doug Fankhouser, Roaming Classical Guitarist
12 pm Miss Kathleen's Voice Studio performing Christmas carols in front of Grand 14 Cinema
1 pm Gymnastics, Inc. performing Dance & Gymnastics in front of Grand 14 Cinema
2 pm Sondance performing Christmas carols in front of Grand 14 Cinema
2 - 4 pm Star 92.1 on Howard Avenue with the prize wheel
2 - 4 pm Balloon Artist in front of Bungalow Bailey's
3 pm Miss Kathleen's Voice Studio performing Christmas carols in front of Grand 14 Cinema
3 - 5 pm Roaming Juggling Elves

At 5pm, the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Market Common will begin in Valor Park. The event will be hosted by Ed Piotrowski with WPDE 15 News. The Socastee High School Dance Team and the Coastal Youth Ballet are scheduled to perform. Free hot chocolate will be provided by Canipes Chocolates & Candies and The Sun News. Santa and other festive characters, including the Market Common Shopping Fairy, Sharkee and Splash Pelican will help light the tree.

After the Tree Lighting Ceremony, more fun is in store.
From 6pm – 8pm, “living” toy soldier statues will be in front of Barnes & Noble for holiday photos. From 7pm – 9pm, Santa will be in front of Grand 14 Cinemas for holiday photos. And, from 7pm – 10pm, Market Common is providing complimentary carriage rides to guests. They will be available in front of King Street Grille & Tommy Bahama’s.
Market Common Myrtle Beach is also hosting Ice Skating in Valor Park December 19 – January 3, 2010, from 10am – 6pm. For $7 a wristband, guest receive skate rentals and ice skating time. Bonus: If you shop at Market Commons and spend$50 or more, you’ll receive a complimentary voucher for skating.
During the holidays, complimentary carriage rides will be given as well, from November 28 – December 19, 12pm – 3pm, every Saturday. To enjoy a free carriage ride, visitors must board in front of King Street Grille & Tommy Bahama’s.
