Blueberry Lavender Sour:
Fruity and floral and boozy 😉. This pretty little cocktail makes for a perfect brunch, lunch or dinner drink! I also use this blueberry lavender syrup for other cocktails, goes great with soda water and your favorite light spirit.

Cheers!

* 2 oz gin
* 3/4 oz blueberry lavender syrup**
* 1/2 oz lemon juice
* 1 egg white (optional)
* 2-3 dashes scrappysbitters original lavender bitters
* Soda water topper (optional)

Add first 5 ingredients to a shaker, dry shake for 15-20 seconds. Add ice to the shaker and shake for another 20 seconds. Double strain into a glass and add a few ounces of soda water to get that gorgeous foam. Garnish and enjoy!

**blueberry lavender syrup:
1/2 cup blueberries
1 tbs dried lavender
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes. Strain and let cool before using.

Fluff your feeds Friday feature 🤩 Oozing charm! I’m currently In NOLA, need to go find this beauty for myself! -Carrie Thanks for tagging #archi_ologie Posted withregram • prettyoldplaces Can you believe the detail on this New Orleans beauty? Circa 1850 in the Lower Garden District. It sits directly across the street from Coliseum Square Park.⁣

I was intrigued with the question of why this was known as "Coliseum" street and why the park was named as such (especially since there is no actual coliseum), so I researched a bit to find out. The Lower Garden District itself wasn't realized until 1962 when the Coliseum Square Association came together to revitalize the community after hard economic times during the war and the early 20th century.⁣

Before that, in 1806, Barthelemy Lafon was contracted by a couple plantation owners to subdivide their property. He ended up designing what is now considered the Lower Garden District. In fact, his designs brought in 5 other plantations including the one owned by the founder of New Orleans, Bienville. He named streets after Greek mythology muses including Calliope, Erato, and Polymania. And he intended for a large coliseum to go up in Coliseum Square Park, but after that never came to fruition, the name stuck.⁣

Late Victorian, Queen Anne home on Webster Street in the University section of Uptown New Orleans. Webster Street is part of Faubourg Burtheville which was subdivided in 1854 from the plantation of Dominique Francois Burthe. Burtheville includes Webster, Henry Clay, and Calhoun Streets, named for the three noted statesmen who died in 1850 and 1852. Calhoun Street north of St. Charles Ave. was originally called Edmond, and Henry Clay north of the Avenue was renamed Palmer Avenue in 1898. One can still find metal plates across street-corner gutters on Palmer Ave. which read Henry Clay. #neworleans #architecture #burtheville ...
