Tripster & Walt Disney World Launch Varied Rate Tickets

Saint Louis, Missouri – November 6, 2018   October 12th, 2018, Walt Disney World introduced a completely new ticketing strategy centered on date specific, varied pricing for admission to their Orlando theme parks.  Along with that strategy came a new ticketing platform designed to manage the new pricing scheme, as well as their third-party distribution. As a leading Walt Disney World reseller, Tripster was selected to simultaneously launch the new varied rate strategy and ticketing system for its consumers and white label partners.

In part, the goal to this ticketing strategy is to encourage consumers to attend the parks during lower traffic days of the week or less busy times of the year. As a result, tickets themselves are no longer valid for entry any time but rather for specific dates of use enabling the park to gauge park traffic in advance and potentially steer guests to lower attendance dates.  This, of course, makes buying tickets less flexible and a bit more complex.

Tripster, a partner of Walt Disney World for over 10 years, is one of the limited resell partners to adopt this new technology, launching in tandem with the Park’s official introduction.  A technology-focused destination booking engine, Reserve Direct features Walt Disney World on its site and on over 50 white labels where the product is packaged with local hotels and other area activities and attractions.

“It’s an exciting concept offering per day, varied pricing for a theme park.,” stated John Johnson, CEO and President of Tripster.  “And, while it was no small undertaking technology-wise, we were excited to be a part of it from inception through its launch. Our consumers and just as importantly, our white label partners, didn’t skip a beat in the transition.”
