Description

from Zoo Miami
Zoo Miami is the ideal place for an individual, a couple, or an entire family to spend a day. As a matter of fact, visitors can travel the world in one day! They will visit Africa, Asia, the Amazon, and Australia. Zoo Miami consists of 340 developed acres with more than 3,000 animals and over 1,200 plants and trees which are planted in such a way as to mimic the animals’ natural habitats.

Guests will be able to feed giraffes, parrots, and a rhino; ride a camel; have animal encounters; meet the keepers during scheduled Meet the Zookeeper talks throughout the day; and much more. They will enjoy jaguars, lions, tigers, orangutans, elephants, the Wings of Asia Aviary (the largest Asian-themed aviary in the western hemisphere with hundreds of free-flying birds), gorillas, chimps, koalas, kangaroos, frogs, snakes, meerkats, and more animals than we could ever list.

At Amazon and Beyond, experience a rainforest, jaguars, anacondas, bats, venomous snakes (behind glass exhibits, of course), rare frogs, harpy eagles, and a 48,000-gallon aquarium. And our Playworld Playground is a great place for kids to burn off some of that excess energy. Half jungle, half water park, they can stay dry or wet. Zoo Miami has food and drink concession stands throughout and a beautiful gift shop where you can buy that special memento that will bring back wonderful memories of Zoo Miami!

"Excellent mini adventure!"
October 2018
This was my second time at the zoo but my hubby's first and it was amazing! We went during the weekday which was less crowded and gave us the opportunity to take our time exploring. We were able to feed the giraffes and birds, which were an amazing experience for us both! We highly recommend, especially to families or anyone looking for a mini adventure. Do rent one of the cycles, as this helps a lot with the distance to cover; you won't regret it!

"Amazing Behind the Scenes Experience"

While our original Behind the Scenes Experience was cancelled due to issues with the animals, I can't thank the Tours Department, and especially Sebastian for making our trip absolutely amazing. The lengths that you went through to make my wife happy, is very appreciated. Say hi to Toshi for us, as we'll definitely be back. Good luck on your school Sebastian.

This Zoo was wonderful. Very big, so plan for at least 3 hours to see everything and lots of walking. We had a good day and were very impressed with the facilities for the animals. They also have special tours and offerings if you call ahead. Would recommend.

"About as great as a zoo can be!"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

Very spacious zoo, and most animals there seem to have plenty of room and seem to be having a pretty good time. It's a little pricey at $25 per person and bicycles (a good option start at $23 for two hours or $60/day). It's a great exercise to walk the zoo so plan to bike if you're not into a lot of walking. They provide an awesome big league nature experience. I've been to San Diego, Indy, Cinci, and several more, and this zoo is a treasure. There's plenty of free parking, and we showed up an hour after opening and crowd was minimal. Also, the restaurants there will surprise you with the decent quality, and the staff throughout are surprisingly cool, professional, nice people at every stop. For the hot days, there are water misters and water fountains throughout the park. Zoo Miami should be proud about providing such a BIG league animal expo and fun nature experience.
