Stayed three nights at the St. Francis. We booked a room in the tower - I opted for the slightly larger room, high floor. It was nice and quite with a great city view. Lobby was beautiful and the location is great! Union square is right in front of the hotel with many shopping and eating opportunities all around. My only complaint is double beds in the rooms. Why on earth these nice sized rooms have double beds rather than at least a queen size is a mystery to me. Overall we were very happy with the St. Francis.

We are a family of 4. Stayed here 6 nights. First I got a room with two beds Which I was told they were queens but turned out to be doubles. So I upgraded to a junior suite and of course had to pay the price. Thinking I was Going to get a great room we were exited. However we had tons of issues with housekeeping not properly cleaning the room to the point I had to get the hotel manager involved. After being gone all day , had to come back to a Room that was not properly cleaned and then my Husband my 2 kids and myself Had to wait downstairs in lobby to get problem fixed and even then when we went back upstairs they had not done the job completely. This was done 2 days in a row. No one even offered us a soda for our trouble. Did not make room nice and did not take used glass wear Service overall is lacking. There is no customer service. While there are some friendly people the staff has an attitude and overall the employees could use customer Service training and procedural training There is really no where to eat dinner at the hotel except a little sandwich shop on the lobby which closes at 8 or room service. There is no restaurant for dinner on site so if you have kids you can only do room service Or leave the hotel. Overall I would not stay there again

Historic property with well appointed rooms in the heart of Union Square. Front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating. Guest room was quite nice all around and especially so the bathroom - well appointed, marble floors, high end shower. Pricey room rate owing to a giant conference in town that weekend. My only semi complaint (and it’s not really one but more just for awareness) is that rooms in the historic building (vs the tower) and facing Union Square may be prone to the noise emanating from Union Square. There was an evening performance complete with loud music that went on later than I would have expected. Maybe this doesn’t happen often; not sure. But with the view you may also get the sound of the Square!

A Bonvoy Platinum for life and Titanium Elite frequent traveller, I get to experience it all. The remarkable attention to details of BRANDON NUNEZ at the hotel lobby bar is right up there among the best I've seen. It makes you feel welcome and cared for, when ending a long day is what you have in mind. The rest of the hotel is very clean and well maintained, considering the age of the property. Overall, I got a feeling that I was being cared for by professionals.

The staff needs to be educated in customer service. It took us standing in line for 30 mins to check in. Asked that they service and make the pull out bed our room at 630 pm. Came back to the hotel exhausted at 11:30pm no bed made. When I called they said so do you want us to come make it now. We thought no it’s late the kids are tired we will make it ourselves. But guess what no sheets on the pull out and not a single blanket or pillow in the room. Everyone had to share the same bed because it was very late at that time. When I complained the next morning they said they had not received such a call to make the pull out. But they had come in the room to make the clean everything else after I called at 6:30pm. Then the manager told me I will talk to the housekeeping manager and get back to you. No one ever reached out to me during my whole stay. When I came to check out on Sunday, I had to ask to talk to a manager. I spoke to Amanda Landsaum to essentially told me to my face that I never made such a call. Then told me that she will give me points to make up for the mess that they created. Well now a week has passed and no points or apologizes.
