"Maui no ka oi -- “Maui is the best.”"

Of all the hotels on Maui to celebrate our 32nd anniversary we returned to the Wailea Beach Resort. This is our go to hotel... The service from beginning to end was top of the line. The exceptional planning with Maricel presented us with a wonderful smooth check in process with Armand. Not to be overlooked was the pool side service by Mario. Use caution as the smoothies can be additive. The grounds are beautifully manicured, the multiple pools refreshing and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The house keeping staff was always pleasant and accommodating. The onsite amenities can meet all your needs or just a short walk to the Shops at Wailea you can pick up souvenirs, snacks and dine at an array of restaurants. The hotel offers a prearrange shuttle to the shops if you don’t want to walk but the walk is short and most pleasant under the tree canopy. Things to plan and keep in mind: • You really don’t need a car if you just want to stay local. Saves you the parking fees. The parking garage can be a challenge. If you have a car and do self-park use the upper parking deck. • Plan to rent an ocean front cabana for a day. (Don’t forget to use the discount that is a part of the resort fee) • Plan to utilize the free snorkeling gear (also part of the resort fee) or rent a snorkel set. The snorkeling right in front of the ‘Ohi Pool is spectacular. Turtles can be seen daily. • The Humble Market is great for happy hour. Go early for best seating. The restaurant also serves a continental breakfast/full breakfast buffet or you can order off the menu for breakfast. Savor the moments as the time goes quick at the Wailea Beach Resort. We are already planning our return trip in April.

"Absolute paradise"

The Marriott in Wailea is sheer paradise. I was in disbelief for three days that I was in a locale so beautiful. Upon arriving at the resort, we were greeted with leis, passion fruit juice and a warm hand towel. The lobby is open air and beautifully decorated. Overlooking the beach is incredible - the palm trees, the waves, the view of the mountains - everything is picturesque. The resort looked like every calendar of Hawaii I’ve seen.

"honeymoon "
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

On our 4th night here and 2nd stay overall. We came back for our honeymoon because we wanted to try out one of the rooms with the view. As a platinum member I unsuccessfully tried to use our suite night upgrades so was praying for an upgrade. Got denied a few days in advance. I may have annoyingly called a lot weeks out, too. We got a room overlooking the roof and when I asked they did kindly move us. Hotel staff are all very kind and housekeeping is especially great. There’s some construction at one of the pools and we’ve not gotten the ocean chairs by the pool thus far - not the end of the world but would have been great for honeymooning. Water slides are fantastic. Even compared to the grand wailea slides - overall not as cool of a pool obviously but def something to still write home about - another reason we came back. The silliest thing - they gave us a honeymoon gift and it said mr and mrs when we are a mr and mr. As it’s 2019 my guess is some straight newlyweds wouldn’t even like the mrs assumption. Just a simple check would have made us even more excited to be newlyweds. The treat was still appreciated. Compared to the big isle and such - wailea is a bit of a factory so we may venture up the coast to the quieter ritz Carlton on Maui if we get married again, ha.

"Great hotel- silly money"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed December 09, 2019 NEW
This is a great hotel and a great location. Clean and everyone super friendly. Can’t say enough about it. That is the good stuff. The not so good stuff- 30 dollars a day to self park and the spaces are tiny. A chore to park. Went down to print boarding passes & they charge to use the computer. They charge a 38 dollar a day resort fee! For what? Very little beach and getting a lounge around the pool depends on how much u r willing to tip the pool guys. Lunch for three at the outdoor eatery was 100 bucks for burgers and chicken sandwiches. I get that it is a high end resort but after a while it does get annoying. It is however a first class resort so just be aware of the hidden extras.
