"Just barely OK"

This place has a great location and it was fine for a place to sleep. Desperately in need of good management. Basic housekeeping service needs to be much better. Rooms are not cleaned well enough. General maintenance on the rooms needs to be a major focus. Lots of wear and tear with no or poor repairs. This place could be so charming.

"Dirty place"

We stayed for five days in a king suite. Dirty toilet, jacuzzi, ceilings, fixtures, ceiling boards falling down, cobwebs in corners, dusty headboard, tv and an extra blanket that I would not touch with a ten foot pole. The walls are growing dust.

We paid for a king suite for four nights. It was really disgustingly dirty. Looked like it may have been nice when it was first done but the housekeeping/upkeep is horrendous. We’ve attached pictures. Mold on the bathroom, dirty toilet, bathroom floor, dust on everything, cobwebs on ceiling in corners (top of headboard, lamps, tv, outlets, the wall is growing dust). Bed was made today while we were out and the tv remote was under the blankets. We are really not picky people but the uncleanliness of this motel suite is unacceptable.

"BEWARE: DO NOT STAY HERE"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed August 11, 2019
BEWARE My best advice to anyone looking to stay here is to find another place asap (unless you want to get eat up with bed bugs and take them home with you). This place is infested with them. My husband and I decided to stay here for 5 nights for our yearly vacation. That was a big mistake. We got a room with 2 queen beds on the second floor; our room number was 224. On our third night we both started to notice itchy bites all over our body. With further research we found out they were in fact bed bug bites. I was trying to stay optimistic and started looking for evidence. Within minutes, we found them. We packed everything up and since the front desk had already closed I called the number on the door to speak with someone with my concern. A rather rude gentleman picked up the phone and said to show up the next morning for a refund. After we left the motel, we were up ALL night washing clothes and our belongings. Our planned relaxing trip quickly turned into a disaster and was not a vacation at all. The next morning, we show up to receive our refund. But since we booked through Expedia, the rude guy working the counter said he could not give us one. Which contradicts what the other guy said on the phone. Through all of this, not once did a staff member say they were sorry. It just goes to show they were already well aware of the problem. Since the rooms are so close together, I am sure a majority of the rooms have them. I am left wondering how long this problem has been going on. I think it’s astonishing that in May of 2014 someone else had the exact same problem we did in the same exact same room; again, it just shows how big their problem is and how much they "care" for their establishment. Here is a link to the review from 2014: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g55270-d249686-Reviews-Timbers_Lodge-Pigeon_Forge_Tennessee.html#REVIEWS In addition to the bed bug infestation, the room was filthy, the AC barely kept the room at 70 degrees, the sheets and pillow cases had hair on them, and the bathtub had a lot of hair and black debris in it. But, we were really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt based on the reviews we have seen. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What we have went through since our stay here in unfathomable. Especially since my husband and I have extreme anxiety. This has put us through the ringer (mentally, physically and emotionally). In addition to having to find and pay for another place to stay, we have spent over $100 on products to assist us in the infestation that Timbers Lodge gave us.
