"Nice clean resort with great views and full kitchens"

The resort is really nice with great landscaping, swimming pool with bar/snacks, separate adult hot tub, and the rooms have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The shore along the resort is all rocks, no sand. Great for viewing sea turtles, but not for swimming or snorkeling. You need to drive West for real sandy beach access. No real room service, restaurant, or groceries on site. Best place for that is a 8 minute drive to Koloa for Big Save market and the surrounding shops. Overall this is a nice clean resort in a fairly quiet area with suites large enough to enjoy spending time in. Not at all thrilled with the timeshare part of it. Got some pressure to attend members update meeting, but the only time slot was on the last full day of the vacation. The only inducement was some discounts, but those discounts are only activated AFTER you attend their meeting. So completely useless to me. I found something much more interesting to do in that time they wanted to take away from my vacation. No thanks, leave me alone. If you want to try to up sell me on the timeshare, offer something useful when I can actually use it.

"Beautiful Property and Location!"

We exchanged our RCI timeshare for a 2 bedroom unit at the Point at Poipu. The customer service at this property was wonderful, as were the facilities and resort amenities. The units closest to the ocean are located quite a distance from the parking lots, but the views from the upper floors were wonderful. Our unit was located on the 3rd floor of building 6, with our balcony facing the Grand Hyatt and Shipwreck beach. We woke up to beautiful sunrises daily, along with continuous views of the beautiful shoreline. Our condo unit was spacious and comfortable and had all the basics needed for a week's stay. We cooked several meals throughout the week, including use of the Weber grills in the common areas. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with 'Aloha' and a pleasant smile. The units could eventually use a bit of updating but this didn't impact our stay in any way. I would happily return to this property again for the great customer service, location, and pool area.

"family time and lap lanes!!"

The 2 bedroom unit was very large. We had 4 adults, one teenager and a 2 year old, plenty of room. Our condo was on ground level garden view with large grass area in back and waterfalls in front. The pool is very large. I am a lap swimmer and the pool has 2 25 yard lanes! no lane lines but I found this delightful!

"Disappointing Re-Visit"

We spent a week at the Resort from August 24th-31st. We had stayed here twice before, when it was the Embassy Suites Poipu Beach. Most of the Resort is unchanged from what we remembered, other than wear and tear - the Unit we stayed in had worn out cabinets, toilets were old and not functioning well - we had to call maintenance a couple of times for toilets running, and not flushing. Kitchen seemed untouched as far as updating over the years - appliances and coffee maker, toaster, etc. seemed very worn. Looking back at old photos from previous stays, some of the furnishings and carpeting have been replaced, but overall still pretty worn looking. LOTS of walking at this Resort from parking areas to units, and from Lobby to Units, particularly the Ocean View units. Ocean views are very nice, but there is no beach access. You can walk about 1/2 mile along a trail to a nice sandy beach in front of the Hyatt Hotel. The Resort Pool is really just for wading - I remember it being sandy bottomed, but it is presently concrete, with a small sand beach surrounding it on one side. No on site Restaurant other than a Pool Bar which serves food and beverages, so for a Restaurant type meal you need to either drive, or walk to the Hyatt. Time Share tour is not worth the time unless you want to buy. Other discounts on activities can be found. Checkout is 11 a.m. so if you have a late night flight to the Mainland, plan accordingly - might want to pay for another night.
