"Rooms not clean"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed February 17, 2020 NEW
We booked a 2-bed suite, the rooms are spacious however NOT clean! There were disgusting stains on our couch which looks like someone puked there before. Also black marks on one of the pillows. The front desk service is also below average, with no greetings no smiles at all. The guy basically just checked us in and pointed us to the completely opposite direction of our rooms giving us zero information regarding the property (ie, breakfast area, wifi connection etc). We walked all the way to the end of that hallway carrying our luggage and realized our room was on the other side. Should have just followed the signs. As for pros, the hotel is conveniently located close to universal studio and it seems new. The rooms are spacious with a kitchen and comfortable beds. I do not recommend this hotel.

"Relaxing week"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed February 12, 2020 NEW
I booked five nights at The Point for a getaway after my father passed away two months prior. I was looking for sun, getting in some poolside reading and general relaxation. After spending a few hours looking at various places to stay on the computer, I selected The Point after reading many positive reviews. Normally, I stay at Hilton properties but the reviews here won me over. The property itself is only a mile from Universal Studios and close to other touristy favorites. The hotel is well done and has wonderful features to make your stay enjoyable. Rooms are spacious and mine had two king beds which would be perfect for a family of four. Mini-fridge, microwave, bar sink, dishes and silverware too. Outside, sit on one of plenty loungers surrounding the pool or many outdoor sofas / chair seatings. Pool table, corn hole, gym, and outdoor pool and hot tub await. There was always an abundance of pool towels. Lounge by the pool, listening to music and staring up at palm trees is just what was needed. It’s family friendly, great for those of us who fly solo or business travelers. Unfortunately for my timing, the sun was not plentiful that week and a tan proved elusive. I still read my books but I found myself spending more time at the outdoor poolside Cabana bar. Here’s where lemons are made into lemonade. While sitting at the Cabana bar eating lunch and dinner, I got talking with Chrissy the bartender who is a great ambassador of The Pointe. Witty, attractive, and a great conversationalist, after an afternoon of casual conversation the lack of sun was soon forgotten. We had great chats while she worked and I soon discovered what my trip had needed all along - someone to talk with. Chrissy offered fantastic service, always had a warm smile, loads of laughs, fun to talk with and is an exemplary employee who knows her customers. Management scored a home run when they hired her. Along the way during my stay, I also met staffers Stephanie and Luis who also were wonderful to chat with and offered nothing less than 5-star service. They offered polite “good afternoon”, “how is your stay sir?”, and “please visit us again.” From the front desk staff to the maintenance guy who was walking by with tools in his hand and stopped for a moment to ask me how my stay was going, the politeness, caring staff of who I can’t recall all their names made this a truly wonderful experience. While I returned home to Delaware pretty much as pale as when I left, I recalled my stay with a nice smile. Online searches offer hundreds of places to choose from. Again, the reviews by many others before me are a testament to to the grand service you’ll receive at The Point Hotel and Suites. The hotel is just a building with nice furnishings in a good location, but it’s the staffs’ politeness and attention to detail that make this such an enjoyable place to stay. It is the staff that truly gives this place its 5-star rating.

Alaina at the front desk was so accommodating when we had to change hotels last minute. We left the Ramada because their hotel and staff were unpleasant. Can’t wait for our next stay at The Pointe!!!!

Our room was large and clean, check in process was smooth and the shuttle to the parks was easy. We especially loved Christie, the pool bartender, as she was bubbly and helpful! Overall would recommend.
