from The DoSeum
The San Antonio Children's Museum was founded in 1995 to create a hands-on educational space for children. In 2015, we transformed into The DoSeum - a STEM-focused children’s museum. As such, The DoSeum serves as a “charging station” to power up kids’ minds through play. Our exhibits and programs promote play, invite discovery, spark interest, and develop positive attitudes towards learning across critical content areas like STEM, Literature and the arts.

"The younger the better...kinda"

I really want to love the Doseum because conceptually it’s awesome. However, it doesn’t hold the attention often kids (4,9 and 13). I went on spring break with my sister and her kids (7,8, and 10) thinking that it would help. It did not. They were engaged for about an hour or so, and then they were ready to go. Of course, we didn’t allow them to. We encouraged them to at least get our moneys worth ($14 per person) by staying for 3 hours. The water play stations weren’t functioning, so that was disappointing. The playground is a continuous accident waiting to happen. My youngest and my oldest both hit their heads hard on the slide apparatus. My oldest said it’s a “design flaw” in that there is a section that doesn’t give them an opportunity to adjust from one section to the next. He’s super tall, so I think it’s just not meant for taller kids. Not sure... Bottom line: We loved it the first time it opened when my boys were 5 years younger. It hadn’t held the same appeal for them as they’ve gotten older. I’d suggest the zoo before the Doseum.

If truth be told, it was a wonderful experience for adults as well. I enjoyed playing with the interactive exhibits as much as the kids. You are ever to old to learn and have fun at the DoSeum

"Great place. Difficult for children with scensory overload"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

What an amazing place. Its fascinating for children of all ages. In our group we had a child that had autism and he ended up covering his ears. I should have brought noise cancelling earphones for him. We spent most of our time in a quiet room for babies and nursing mothers. There were limited toys but we had some with us. A kind gentleman that was there to help came in and checked on us and told us that if we were local that they had scensory nights with limited crowds low lights and sounds. However the others in our group had a fabulous time! We would take them there and get family passes if we lived there.
