Hear about rites and rituals of Colonial Williamsburg’s multiple secret societies, some of which still meet there to this day. Learn the dark history of Williamsburg and about the nation’s most influential people from colonial America all the way up to “Rockefeller’s Williamsburg”.

This is a walking tour with multiple stops and a slow leisure pace with a distance of about a half-mile total. Guests do not go into buildings on this tour.

There is no charge for children under 6 years of age.

Bring an umbrella! Tours are conducted rain or shine. If conditions become hazardous or severe, Spooks and Legends reserves the right to cancel the tour. They recommend dressing appropriately for all weather conditions.

If my tour is canceled, will I get a refund?

If the tour is cancelled by Spooks and Legends for any reason, you will receive a full refund or, if you prefer, you may reschedule.

Do we need to print our tickets?

You can either print your tickets or show them via your cell phone.

Are there restrooms available during the walking tour?

Restrooms are available, though generally not along the tour route. They are easily accessible a short distance away, however, so you may walk to one if need be.

How will I recognize my tour guide?

Tour guides dress in historic period costumes.

What is the pace of the walking tour?

This walking tour is taken at an easy pace. However, if you get behind, they will wait at each location before beginning to talk, again.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes. All children 6 and under attend free of charge.

What happens if I'm late?

If you are late, you will miss the tour. Tours depart on time, and to be fair to the whole group, Spooks and Legends cannot wait for late arrivals.

Is the tour dog-friendly?

Dogs are welcome. Please see that your dog is friendly, on a leash, and please be sure to bring the appropriate supplies to clean up any messes.

Can I bring a camera?

The tour is copyrighted. There is absolutely no videotaping allowed.

May I take notes during the tour?

No. The tour is copyrighted and note-taking is prohibited.

Can I bring any food or drinks with me?

Yes. Non-alcoholic beverages only are permitted.

Can I smoke on the tour?

No. These are non-smoking tours only. Cigarettes, cigars, and vapor pipes are prohibited.

Does the tour guide accept gratuities?
