First time in Vegas and first stay at Strat. Positive: - quick check in and no waiting for check out - the tower is THE highlight - room rate: OK - huge garage free of charge. Negative: - the room was just beds and TV, no coffee maker or anything - some silly hidden prices, e.g. Skypod was $5 for guests but then they charge you additional $4 for "taxes and fees" that are not listed in any price list whatsoever - surrounding area looks creepy, especially behind the hotel

Another stay in the Stratosphere and again had a fabulous stay. Check in was done in 10 minutes. even though the queue was long it soon disappeared due to the efficiency of the reception staff. We stayed in room 925 and the room was visited daily by the maids, beds made and bathroom supplies replenished. Staff were all friendly as usual with a cheerful persona. Great food and a varied selection at all mealtimes. Thoroughly enjoyed the Skyfall! A great addition since the last time we stayed so thanks for the adrenaline junkie feed 🤪. Looking forward to returning but will be in a few years as prices in Vegas are considerably higher than they were a few years ago however this is no reflection on the Strat.

"would have been what I expected for what I paid, except for the horrible check in experience"

We stayed in a room that was not remodeled and there was nothing special about it. It was on the 4th floor and had a view of the AC units on the roof. There was very loud construction around the elevators to the rooms making it difficult to find. All of this is get what you pay for in my mind and was acceptable for what we paid to stay. What was terrible and unexpected was the wait to check in. It took us well over an hour waiting in line. The line continued to grow so I am sure customers behind us were waiting much longer. It was about 1am by the time we received our key after arriving at the hotel around 11:30PM. None of the self check-out kiosk worked. There were only 4 workers checking customers in. When I checked with the front desk in the morning asking about the long wait. They said that is normal experience on a busy night. She checked her system and stated there were around 1000 checkins. A quick google checked shows that there are 2427 rooms at the stratosphere. So was Wednesday October 16th really a busy night? If it really was, does management not schedule employees to cover this? The observation deck has amazing views, however I would never risk staying at this hotel again if that checkin process is normal. For comparison we stayed at Paris on Friday night and it was about a 5 minute process.

No coffee pot. Room had 2 inches of dust in corners. The window air conditioner was loud as hell. (Glad I dont have trouble sleeping) Furnishings have been there since Bugsy. Even tho on non smoking floor, the floor smelled like it was on fire every time I stepped off the elevator. I WAS SERVED COFFEE IN A JUICE GLASS WITH A NAPKIN WRAPPED AROUND IT while gambling. NO CLASS!!!! Wont be back there.COFFEE IN JUICE GLASS????FOR REAL STRATOSPHERE???? I couldnt believe it. I'll pay extra and stay elsewhere. Never so happy to get back home in my life.!

"Hotel next to a ghetto"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

I dined at the strat last week for my wife’s 50th birthday. Views amazing at the top but everywhere else is grubby, old, depressing & dangerous! The taxi ride from my hotel at the cosmopolitan took about 20m, the ride took us to the end of the strip then in to a dark world of hookers & drug dealers on street corners omg! The taxi man said stay in the hotel after do not go outside looking for a taxi wait in the hotel. This hotel is in a ghetto area, if you stay here do NOT go out at night! Don’t take my word for it google it fir yourself! From what I was told the closest safest hotel from there is south toward circus circus.
