"Just OK"
March 2019
Our room could have been cleaner. There was a clump of hair in the bathtub and stains on the comforter. The people above sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling. Our light fixtures rattled and the walls shook every time the above room took a step. Called the front desk...they were not helpful.
Nice view, lots of room, better than a cramped hotel room
Loud, noisy, not clean, called us early to try and push a timeshare presentation.

"Do not Buy Timeshare!!!!"

We enjoyed the resort very much on our first 2 visits. We were offered a discount to do their timeshare presentation. We liked the resort so it seemed like a good idea.. On our first 2 trips we paid $69 and $89/night for a one bedroom lakeside with a jucuzzi. The package we purchased was $895 or $1269 with financing which we were told was interest free. LIE #1! We were told we would save and get better accomadations. LIE #2! When I called to book it was 32,500 points for 2 nights which was more than half of points we paid 1200 for! so $600 for one weekend in a Studio!!! and not enough points to book another weekend!!!! What a RIPOFF!!!!!

Had a family reunion of approximately 50 staying at the property. Pavilion was reserved several weeks in advance only to find out whom ever we spoke to at the resort to reserve it, didn’t. Gave us no options nor did they care. If you want to go to a nice resort, with nice accommodations don’t go here, go to Big Cedar.

After checking in I ask the concierge for good dinner recommendations, they could only recommend the four restaurants (?) on their property. There are two food trucks (permanently placed because I don’t think they run) one sells tacos and the other sandwiches. Then there is the small general store that houses a coffee bar and also sells pizza. None of which was what I was looking for in a decent dinner, the concierge also stated that they delivered pizza to the rooms and to any of the pools. Later when we did call to order we were told that it was only pickup, but the pizza was very good. When I ask about a good breakfast I was told the taco truck sold breakfast burrito’s. We never ate from the fine dining food trucks. And I guess the coffee bar counts as the fourth restaurant? There are many good restaurants within 10 miles of the resort but apparently the concierge was unaware of them. On our way to the room there was some trash in front of one of the room doors and a smashed Styrofoam cup going up the stairs to our room. When we left four days later the same trash was still there. The room was clean except for some crumpled paper left on the bathroom counter by housekeeping I’m sure. Reading the pamphlets I received upon check in, I read that they will charge you $250.00 if you leave trash in your room, but it’s acceptable for their cleaning staff, Make sure you don't leave any trash in your room that includes in the trash cans. The pillows on the bed were very small. Take a standard pillow and cut it half and I think it would still be bigger than what they had on the beds. They literally folded the pillow case into itself so there wasn’t loose fabric flopping around. They could not do the same with the duvet cover as there was about twelve inches of fabric unfilled. The first morning there I woke to no AC because the outlets along the wall were out. No clock, no night side lamp and no AC. They tried to say it was not the resorts fault but the power company. The power company is only responsible for getting power to the property. The resort is responsible for everything on the property. It was mostly likely a tripped breaker as we had power to the over head lights and the outlets in the bathroom. We could hear our neighbor conversation like they were in the same room and every footstep in the room above us. All of the free amenities advertised do not include small things in the room such as shampoo & conditioner, coffee for the coffee pot, hair dryer, iron, etc. things you experience in most any hotel. There is NO maid service, if you need clean towels or sheets you have to take the soiled ones to one of two building on the grounds to exchange them. The attendant there, while very pleasant did not speak English very well, had to use sign language to get what we needed. We thought we would check out the free amenities at the lake. We selected two of their kayaks. My wife chose one that the inner cavity quickly filled with water making it very unstable. We managed to get it back to shore before it sank. I discovered a good size crack in the bottom when trying to drain the inner cavity. But hey they are free amenities, right. No one said they were safe. The path to the lake is a bit over grown with weeds. The shore is very sharp gravel and rock so wear some type of foot protection or suffer sore feet. After that we went to the pool. Look closely at the picture of the big slide. See those dark areas on the support tower? That is rust. Most of the other guest at the pool gave me the impression that this was a resort for lower income guest. There were two men that I felt were eyeing the other guest to see if they left any valuables laying around. I guess these are the people who leave the positive reviews. All in all, not a fun carefree time.

We checked in here for the second leg of our anniversary trip in Branson. The manager on duty on 8/19/2019 was exceptional - forgive me for forgetting your name but we appreciate you merging our reservations! Both of the concierge team members were immensely helpful with questions and property offers. The marina was wonderful! There was plenty of space for everyone and we did it all. Canoes, Paddle Boards, Water bikes, jet ski's (if you get a jet ski ask about the cliff ! it's an awesome spot to climb up and jump off for you thrill seekers!) They even sell fish/turtle food for the little critters living under the dock. As a couple, we weren't really able to enjoy the pools. Children were understandably occupying them during our stay. But we're immensely grateful for the lake which provided us with plenty of swimming space! :) A few areas of concern: I understand that it's a family-resort, but if you relay to guests that there is an 'adult only' pool - there should actually be an adult only pool (or at least adult swim hours). When asking the bartender at the main pool about best times for couples to come by, he nonchalantly stated it's a family resort and that they've had the pools shut down because of a kid pooping in it. Not really the type of thing we wanted to hear. Also - our unit did not have any silverware and I'd recommend stocking with maybe more than one set of kitchen towels? We were there for 4 days and you're required to change your own linens and towels out. All in all I 'd say we had a great time, I'd return with children/family - maybe not again as an anniversary stay. Room was spacious, the tub was AMAZING (jacuzzi), and the balcony was a nice touch. We even used the grills around our unit!
