from Seven Magic Mountains Tour
Internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains is a large-scale site-specific public art installation located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15.

Comprised of seven towers of colorful, stacked boulders standing more than thirty feet high and some weighing up to 50,000 pounds, Seven Magic Mountains is situated within the Ivanpah Valley adjacent to Sheep Mountain and the McCullough, Bird Spring, and Goodsprings ranges of mountains. A creative expression of human presence in the desert, Seven Magic Mountains punctuates the Mojave with a poetic burst of form and color.

The exhibition opened May 11, 2016, and was originally scheduled to be on view for two years. Due to the incredible success of Seven Magic Mountains since its opening, artist Ugo Rondinone has expressed a strong desire to explore ways to keep the artwork on view at its current site. The Producers are currently working on an extension plan that would enable Seven Magic Mountains to remain on view for several years into the future.

At the end of 2018, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued a three year permit extension for the artwork, allowing the installation to remain on view through the end of 2021.

Tom took us on this tour today. Best money spent . Tom was so knowledgeable and passionate about Hoover dam and Vegas. We were going to rent a car and drive out ourselves from Vegas like we did years ago. That would have been a big mistake - seen so much and learned so much today. Thank you Tom for a dammmmm good experience.

A great morning trip out to Hoover Dam through Boulder City and onto to a couple of stops overlooking Lake Mead, the Memorial Bridge and then to the Dam with Great photo opportunities at all stops. Tom our driver was great with lots of commentary, took our photos at every stop and he made the trip a great one. Water and snacks provided too! Highly recommend this if you want a quick visit to the Dam to take in the sights. Well worth the money.

The Hoover Dam mini tour ended up being one of the highlights of our Las Vegas holiday. Bob our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. He found the right balance between engaging with the group and giving out information. Transportation to the dam was spacious and comfortable. Snacks and cold water are provided. You are given opportunities to take photos, including Lake mead, hoover dam and the welcome to the state of Las Vegas sign. There is a souvenir shop at the end of the tour with some excellent stuff in it. All in all very enjoyable.
