"Great Stay for Branson"

We spent Saturday through Wednesday morning at the resort. The pool was great, the space was spacious. the front desk was great to contact and the outdoor facilities were great. We were off the main road so traffic was not a problem but access to anything you would want in Branson was super easy and accessible.

This is the kind of review I love to write because I had zero expectations. Foxborough was the only property available after fallout of an rci reservation gone bad when the originally booked resort failed to reopen as scheduled and anywho... I was traveling with my two kids (11&7). And as such, I will go in order of what was important to my kids. First, the wifi was free, and RELIABLE! So much so that I was able to use my Apple TV. My kids were able to stream their chats with friends (I guess that's the new norm...) on the iPad and they didn't complain which is just a flat out win. The pool was just the right size for the number of guests. There was enough chairs for the multiple families to not be on top of each other, but still close enough to not have to shout at one another to make conversation. Traveling in the Covid era, one assumes the inherent risk of being anywhere outside your own house, so putting that aside, everyone tried to keep some distance and stay mostly with their family group. Towels at the front desk, just next to the pool. 3-6 ft deep with a shallow ledge big enough to stand on inside the rim, but definitely no diving. Bring sunscreen, it gets a lot of sun without much shade. We tended to be out and about in the mornings and ended up at the pool between 3-7ish depending on the day and the kids loved it. The rooms were big and very clean. The kitchen had enough utensils/gadgets/cookware and I used most of it, having only ordered in a few times. Appliances were newish and in pretty good shape. Washer/dryer in the unit was super helpful. The mattresses in both rooms were not the most amazing night's sleep we've ever gotten. If you like a firm mattress, don't expect to find one here, unless I was just supremely unlucky. Water pressure was really good if not great and it got hot quick. Staff was always helpful and pleasant. Location is pretty amazing. The view isn't anything special, but it is just off Gretna which is a 7 minute ride away from either Branson Landing or Titanic's museum thing on the main drag of Rt 76 (I think that's the main road by the Ferris Wheel). Walmart and Target are one exit away, and there's Culver's, DQ, a BBQ place that's really good, and bunch of banks with ATMs between the hotel and Branson Landing. I think I even saw an organic/health foods store. It's no frills, but if you're just looking for a comfortable base to pop in and out of while touristing it up, it worked for us and I would recommend.

This property seems like an old Days Inn slightly remodeled to be a timeshare property. It needed a full cleaning and spray for bugs. And better blinds/curtains. The location was good for touring around central Branson

This is not the worst place we have stayed but it is far from the best. It is easy to get to. Not too far from all the attractions but not right in the middle of the craziness. We were in one of the older units. We had 3 window units that didn't cool the rooms real well. The resort says it is pet free but there were pieces of pet treats in the living room floor. Which tells me they didn't clean the room well. The rooms are good size. The beds are comfortable. There are some newer units in the back. I guess the ones we were in are for "RCI" from what we were told. The kids enjoyed the pool. You will be contacted to buy into a timeshare that the property is associated with!

"Not a resort."

Booking through RCi we expect a decent resort. This is the first time that we have been disappointed. The Retreat at Foxborough is not a resort at all, but a converted motel. Our 2 bedroom unit consisted of 3 motel rooms converted into one unit. One motel room was made into the living room, and dining room/kitchen. To either side were bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. In the living room, the coffee table was very wobbly. Enough so that we had to keep the children away from it for fear of it breaking if they put too much weight on it. The tv is mounted on the wall, with no furniture below it which makes it hard to connect anything to the tv (such as the DVD player you could rent from the front office if you wanted one). Couch was decent, and was a good distance away from the TV. The in-wall heating unit mostly blew cold air (we were informed this was normal so it could "cool down" even though it only blew hot air for <20 seconds). In our kitchen, we had plenty of silverware, plates, trash liners, etc. The freezer was set fairly high so our ice cream wasn't staying as frozen as it should have. Turning it down fixed that. One of the burners on the stove didn't work. For the bedrooms, the TVs have a long dresser underneath with plenty of drawers for clothes. It provides a good surface to set anything up to connect to the tv, although there aren't any outlets close enough to power anything unless you unplug the provided cable box. The TVs were set to odd resolutions that didn't use the entire screen, or cut off portions of the screen, depending on which TV we're speaking of. The remotes were universal remotes that had no menuing options available. The bathrooms were standard motel bathrooms with a shower, normal tub, and toilet. The sink is located outside the bathroom on a tiled surface on a sectioned off part of the bedroom. The toilet in one room was wobbly. Some cosmetic items that could have been fixed easily such as painting the spray on texture on the ceiling in portions of the bathroom, not having the coax cable for the tv stapled to the top of the wall visible, installing the toilets straight, and replacing broken pieces of molding (like the pieces around the mirror) rather than caulking/gluing them back together. The staff was pleasant to deal with, and the motel is in a good spot to avoid traffic and get where you want to go easily. All in all, I'd recommend staying somewhere else, since they all cost the same amount of points.
