Residence Inn Largo Capital Beltway in Upper Marlboro, MD

I stay at the residence inn all the time due to the hotel, it’s convenience and the friendliness of the staff. So imagine my surprise when I met Chris over the phone on nov 29th one day before my birthday. I booked a large suite for $200 a night to see family and have a good time. On this particular night I had 1 friend over watching movies and catching up. We were laughing and joking but it was only me and her so when Chris front desk called the phone in a very harsh and rude tone stating we had a noise complaint I was shocked. He said this was our only warning and if we received another one we will be Put Out. I was taken aback so I said okay and hung up. But once I thought about it I called him back to see what was heard or what was we doing to get a noise complaint. I stated I was laughing and beings though I stayed here before I never been treated so rudely nor got a noise complaint for laughing in a $200 room. He stated he came up and heard me laughing from the elevator now mind you I’m all the way down the hall by the stairs how in the heck did u hear me specially. Like between the elevator in my room is at least 20 rooms. I never had someone so rude and disrespectful to me like he did in my life. I’m a hotels operations manager and I know procedures. If I was so loud why didn’t he knock or why couldn’t he speak in a more professional tone. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and he rudely stated well Kenya will be here in the morning so you either shut up or I’m putting you out. At that point I told him I would leave and I want my money back. He said talk to her in the morning but right now you need to be quite. I would never allow any of my employees to speak to anyone like this and still have a job. Yes you can speak your policies but u do it professionally not rude and malicious. I don’t know if I would ever stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights because of its location. The hotel could be great, however, the cleanliness of the property will ruin it. The staff is pleasant but I can’t figure out why it’s so dirty. The elevator floor was sticky upon arrival and throughout my stay. My room had crumbs in the office chair and kitchen bar stools. The bathroom had shoe prints on the floor and missing grout on the tiled floor. The surface tops in office area had fingerprints all over. Overall the place was just not what I’m accustomed to when staying at any Marriott property. The regular pricing of the hotel is at odds with the standards, no way the hotel should ever be over $200 for such poor cleaning. I’ll try the courtyard next door next time.

Stayed here while in town for a concert, and definitely had a nice stay. The staff at the front desk were pleasant, and extremely helpful no matter what was asked of them. There are 4 slightly outdated floors, but our room was great! We had a mini suite, with a kitchenette and sitting area, and a separate bedroom with a king bed. Hotel was very clean, and never noisy. Ate the complimentary breakfast twice, and as someone that has a gluten allergy, there is definitely room for improvement. Eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, and oatmeal are always nice, but having to stare at the bread display, was not so wonderful! Adding a type of gluten free bread or muffin, even a bagel would add more to the choices available for those with food allergies. Also, during their nightly mixers in the lobby, I noticed very limited gluten free options as well. A little tweak here and there to accommodate those with allergies would make a huge difference, as many other hotels and restaurants already do so.

We reserved several suites and rooms for our girls get-away weekend. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and clean. I liked the decor and the overall feel of the space. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would come here again in the future.

As a Platinum Premier Elite member there are certain things that I expect when I stay at a Marriott chain. My recent stay at the Residence Inn Largo from 01/17/19 thru 01/20/19 was my worst stay ever at a Marriott chain and I will never stay at this location again when I am in the area. Check-in was fine but my room wasn't upgraded I'm not going to dwell over that. When I get to my room I noticed some stains on the sheets and the kitchen area floor was filthy but since housekeeping was already gone I didnt complain to the front desk but slept on the sofa instead. For those traveling with young children it appears as though this location only has one crib that is shared with the Courtyard across the parking lot that is unacceptable. On the second day housekeeping failed to come by to clean my room. I contacted the front desk and was informed that an incident had occurred and housekeeping would be working until 7pm. This was around 5:30pm to ensure that my room would be cleaned I went by every floor looking for housekeeping and found no one. This was the first lie told by the front desk staff. I called back the front desk at 6:50pm to inform them that no one had came by room and was told that housekeeping was already gone for the day and that I could be brought the items that I needed. Staying at a hotel that cost almost $200 a night I am not going to be changing my own bed linen or sweeping the floor. I asked if it would be possible for me to switch to a different room and was told that the hotel was at capacity. This was the 2nd lie I was told during my stay as I went to Marriott's website and rooms where still available for the night. On the third day when I explained my situation to the front desk staff the individual was extremely unprofessional and didnt seem interested. Housekeeping did manage to make it to my room this day but didnt take the plates out of the sink and did a below average job cleaning the bathroom. Not to mention the loud noises you will hear in the hallways around 2am that will wake you up out of your sleep of people arguing or singing. This stay was enough for me to never return to this location. You want your stay at a hotel to pleasant and comfortable this location wont provide that. There are plenty of other hotels in this area that I will give a try.
