Pearl Harbor National Memorial is not to be missed when you visit Hawaii (Oahu). This amazing place brings to life the events that unfolded that fateful December day in 1941. You can imagine the scene as you look at the moorings of the boats and the wreck of the Missouri. The museum was fabulous too. Even though it was terribly sad to learn of the horrors of that day it is something everyone should get too see and understand.I felt honoured to have been able to pay my respects.

A very touching place to visit and reflect. USS Arizona memorial pontoon was closed but we still felt very emotional going out on the ferry to see it up close. If there is anything negative...needs some shade and the snack store is way too small. The only food we could buy for lunch was hot dogs or nachos (cheese sauce on corn chips).

Most definitely do the entire tour including the ship and submarine. Don't just go on the cruise around the Arizona, but take in all that Pearl Harbour has to offer and show including the Plane museum and tours. Excellent.

If you go to Honolulu or in general to Oahu, simply you have to go here to honor the fallen during the Pearl Harbour Attack. History changed here.

We did a bit of research about getting tickets for this and decided we would just do the self walk/guided headset tour and buy tickets to go on the mizzouri boat (which we brought while there). We went online at 7am and got tickets for the Arizona which is where you watch a movie and go on the boat to look down on the Arizona which sank. The Arizona is closed until later this year but we thought it would go close so we could at least see it a bit. You don't go anywhere near it so don't waste your time! The talk on the ferry ride is boring as we had just seen a movie (which is worth it) and also looked through the museum with the headset. I also wouldn't bother with the headset as what's said on the recording is different to what the plaques say in the museum. I would personally just read what you want to read in the museum in your own time. they say the headset tour is about 45 minutes but it's longer as they don't allow for in between stations. Allow at least 20 minutes to start the tour before getting on the ferry to the Arizona which is half way through the headset tour! They don't tell you this :/ . If I did it again I would queue to watch the movie without a ticket and tell them you aren't going on the boat and if it's not busy or full which it wasn't for us they will let you in. They let a family of 9 in without a ticket (it's free BTW) and it was 11am. Apparently it's peak season. Also you can take in water but only a small size handbag. I mean small!! approx 10x15cm.
