"Weekend Gateway!"

This is a great hotel due to it being within walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. It was a great value. The room was okay. The tub had hair in the drain and the pillows were flat and not very comfortable.
I would give this place a 3 star but giving it 4 because on our way back to the hotel, the key was deactivated. It was after midnight. The hotel had 3 keys taped to the lobby door. I don't know how safe that is but sure glad they had it.

The staff was so pleasant. This motor inn is well kept, a 3 minute walk to downtown Gatlinburg, and very friendly. A great value! We will be staying here again.

"average accommodations good service"

It was an okay place to stay for an inexpensive getaway with my small children. No complaints and lower rating is only because the hotel is a bit dated, but for the price it is a good value!

"Mice."

Title pretty much says it all. These smaller hotels have really gone downhill over the years. It's Gatlinburg though so plenty of customers. We got there late (made sure to let them know before) and looking around, I was surprised at how sketchy Gatlinburg could feel at 11pm. I've been coming here for years, and I never got that vibe before. Felt like home at least? Guy was quick and nice during check-in. We get to the room, and I'm not super impressed, smells of smoke (non-smoking), but we're not picky. We just wanted an inexpensive place to sleep and shower. Started checking around a little closer, bed especially, and wouldn't you know it: mouse droppings. The mouse/mice were kind enough to put one on each nightstand for us at no extra cost. Checking under the mattress, they even left some more there as well. Talk about service! Hey we're in the middle of the mountains. Mice happen. But the big issue was that they didn't bother to clean up after them. It being in the open like that told me either the mice were THAT bad there, visiting rooms between guests, or they just don't clean. Check the pictures. They're not going to miss that cleaning a room. I was really cool about it, we were tired. Told the guy we just couldn't stay there and booked another place. He offered a refund, I didn't even ask for one. But he couldn't process it there, because the computers were down (family-owned). 3 or so weeks out now and never got that refund (family-owned). Not a huge deal. Consider it an $80 lesson to stick with the big-name or higher star hotels. Also take reviews online with a grain of salt, and go with your gut instead. There is a reason this place is so much "cheaper".

This family owned business is awesome! The rates are great and we just love staying here 😊. It's walking distance to the Village and the parkway. It has 2 pools: one is spring fed which makes the water colder than usual, the other is a regular pool. We highly recommend this place!!!

"Much better again"

We arrived at Mtn House on Saturday August 24th for 2 night stay. It was 3 pm (check in time) when we arrived, so after leaving the office we headed to our room. Unfortunately-yet again-it had not been touched yet. This happened the last time (2 years ago) as well. Mireya (housekeeping) is very nice and does a good job cleaning (when she gets to it), but both times she has been in the vacant room next to ours talking on her cell phone long after our room should have been cleaned. Maybe they need to take her phone away until 3:00. Otherwise would have been 5 stars. Other than that, it was a great stay and we will definitely continue to stay here every time we are in Gatlinburg. Again, nothing fancy but extremely convenient, friendly staff, reasonable rates, comfy beds, and clean rooms....once they are done :) D

"Not worth the money!"

Although it was only $70, I feel that the only way you could give this place anything above a 2-star rating is if you were homeless. It took me 15 minutes just to get the shower temperature somewhat correct and to a manageable temperature, and throughout the shower it still fluctuated drastically. THEN, it took me 5 minutes to rinse out my beard from the extremely low water pressure. Also, I have noticed dirt, hair, stained lamp, and burnt mark on the toilet seat. Walking between the bed area and the sink area there are spike strip that are exposed and dangerous. Between the two queen beds in our room, one was tolerably comfortable and the other was hard and uncomfortable. On a side note, the pictures above the beds are pretty cool and a good location to walk to town and back. One of the two swimming pools was open.

"Dirty sheets!"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed August 11, 2019
My teenage daughters and I stayed here one night. After complaining the sheets were dirty, they brought us new sheets....that still had hair and dirt all over them. We stayed in room 307. Manager didn’t care that beds were dirty. He insisted he knew they were clean. I called two other hotels and they were sold out, otherwise I would have left. Don’t risk it! We had to “clean” the sheets ourselves.
