The lobby is a mess--it is being renovated, and the hotel does not do the right thing and warn you about that on their website (like honest hotels do). The flow of people through the gerrymandered lobby is awkward and claustrophobic. The desk agent told me something like "Yeah, we keep getting complaints from guests who were not warned about the chaos, but the higher-ups won't put the warning on the website." When I arrived, I had to spend 20 minutes with the desk agent (who was the sole agent there, and whose phone rang constantly) because, despite my having called previously to merge my two reservations, that had not been done (even though I had been told that it had). I am a Titanium elite member, and almost always receive a decent room as a result of my loyalty. The desk agent told me that I had been "upgraded" to a high floor with a city view. When I got to the room. I could not see out the window. I figured that maybe it was fogged up due to the rain. Nope. The next morning, I realized that the window had been painted over! Jeb, the manager, acknowledged this, and said it was painted over because of the construction scaffolding right outside the room (presumably so that workers cannot see in your room). Because they could not put me in a decent room for the next 3 nights of my stay,I opted to leave the hotel (repacking, getting a Lyft to the new hotel, waiting for that room to be ready, repacking, etc. instead of enjoying my day). Manager Jeb had told me that he'd refund the 50,000 points I had spent on the lackluster room, which I appreciated. He was going to refund the 50,000 points plus my expended free-night certificate for the cancelled stay (and not charge the $202 cash for one of the remaining nights--of course, the least that could be done for those cancelled nights. However, he did not live up to his promise. He refunded only the 50,000 points, and did not give me my free-night certificate back. I am currently trying to get that back. If all this sounds fun, stay at this hotel. Otherwise, stay at a nice hotel like the amazing Westin St. Francis.

"Amazing stay"

The hotel is being renovated, but it did not bother our trip at all. We stayed for 3 nights in a connecting room with king size which Robert was kind enough to give us. It was in a high floor with stunning views. We were 5 so we needed the sofa bed done and it is literally the biggest sofa bed I have seen. The room was new and very clean. I did not have the chance to meet our housekeeper, but I read Hannah in the little sign. I bet when the hotel is fully renovated, it will be amazing. I’m excited to see it ready. Location was also good because it was not in the middle of the crowd nor far from it. We could walk anywhere. Thank you all for your hospitality. Extremely happy with my stay.

"Great except for extremely noisy!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

This hotel is currently under construction being converted from the current Courtyard into a Marriott autograph collection (to open March 2020). The rooms have been redone and are beautiful, clean. Allen was so helpful upon checkin and throughout my stay, he went above and beyond to help! The location is great too. My one complaint: extremely noisy! I was awoken to jack hammers at 8am sharp- despite being on the 15th floor and requesting a quiet room, they had me facing all the construction. At night, there was loud music and what seemed to be a concert going on. I sleep with a fan and ear plugs, but I could feel the vibrations (15th floor!) and the loud jack hammers in the morning. I’d love to come back, but not until the construction is done!

"Great location for convention center and SOMA"

Excellent location for Moscone Center: exit hotel, turn right, walk about 4 blocks. Starbucks in lobby. Small but well equipped exercise room. Tons of restaurants around. Many shops about 10-15 minutes away on SOMA. Hint: Ask for hotel for a shuttle service to SFO (about $16 and far cheaper than a taxi).

Lovely hotel, really easy to access from BART. Staff friendly. Reception and restaurant under construction but still a lovely little hotel. There is a pizza place on the same street called jersey fine foods, great food in there.
