"Nice Hotel - but missing some basics"
October 2018
First of all - This hotel was sold out on every other website and direct, so a BIG thanks for Reserve Orlando. The good: friendly staff, cute themeing, good free breakfast, includes premium parking for the park. The bad: the pool closes in the middle of the day 12-4pm and no daily housekeeping service with minimum stays. We would stay again when we visit Legoland because the price was a good value.

Tip: good breakfast, pool closes midday, free premium parking for legoland.

Tip: The conveniences of a hotel are lacking a bit at the beach retreat, but it was nothing that affected our trip in a negative way.

We loved the family bungalow accommodation here, great facilities with the playgrounds and pool and awesome LEGO creations around the resort. We got to see LEGO characters visiting the restaurant too which was a highlight for the kids.

"Loved the Beach Retreat"

An excerpt from my blogpost: WE LOVED BEACH RETREAT!! The “Retreat” was about .5 miles away and had a shuttle that went back and forth. You also get a parking pass if you prefer to drive yourself. The shuttle stops running between 12-3 p.m. which I did find a bit odd. As a family with a boy and a girl, I am always trying to find a room with three beds; I know larger families have the same problem. Legoland was great for this because most rooms have a king bed plus bunk beds with a trundle. So it can easily sleep 5 in a room. Both kids had a small Lego set waiting for them. Also there was a channel (49 – I remember this well) that runs the Lego movies ALL DAY EVERY DAY COMMERCIAL FREE. During all down time in the room, the kids watched these movies. Over and over. I can’t believe they don’t get sick of them, but those movies are really good even for adults. In fact I think these movies are what actually makes the whole place so much fun. At Beach Retreat, each “room” is part of a duplex which is part of a cove. Each cove has its own playground. It also has a really nice pool area with floating Legos, a sandy area, and a cool playground. There is also bar service near the pool. The onsite restaurant, Sandy’s, has a pretty good menu and is a great place for a birthday celebration. For around a $100 birthday package, you get two appetizers, meals for all, a cake, a Lego gift, crown and pin and card for the birthday kid, plus they sing to you, and you get a S’mores kit to use later. My daughter really felt special! Coffee every morning starting at 6 a.m. and a great breakfast buffet is included. Check out my blog for more on this and family travel.

"Great People, Great Park, Great Stay"

We really enjoyed our stay in the Legoland Beach Retreat. The room was plenty big enough, the bathroom and shower were awesome and our 8 year old really enjoyed the kids sleeping area with bunk beds. Every single person we met was very friendly and helpful and seemed very genuine. The breakfast buffet, included with the room, was a great way to start the day. It had about anything you could want for self serve. The dining area was very clean and well managed. Our son loved going to the Lego build and play area before and after eating. It was great to catch the shuttle each day and only a 5 minute ride to the drop off which was only a short walk from the entry. I can't say enough about our experience. If you like legos at all you will love this. We plan to return very soon!

We stayed at the Legoland hotel in late August for my daughters birthday. We had purchased 2 day tickets and got rained out, I felt that the hotel was mis-represented and was outrageously priced for what it offered , so I decided to try the Legoland beach retreat this trip.. I personally feel that I got way more than I had originally anticipated! It was a much more relaxed atmosphere, more for kids to do outdoors. Each set of cottages had its own little play set which is in the middle of the cottages, so you can sit in your porch and keep a close eye on your child. The pool area was awesome and has a huge play set which is completely fenced. There were a few sand activities and a Fire pit ( we purchased the s’mores kit for $ 10.00 and it was plenty for at least four people.) They have a lot of staff which I was impressed with. They also had children’s activities just like a the main hotel. The dance party was great!! The cottages have a very relaxing view of the lake and everyone we encountered were very friendly staff and guests alike. You can go and use the facilities at the main hotel as well for the few things that aren’t on site at the beach retreat such as the Master builders class. The included hot and cold breakfast buffet was the most impressive I have ever seen in a hotel! They literally had everything and anything you could possibly want for breakfast. All of the food items were very fresh and well stocked. The room was very clean and it had a very comfortable King bed in the main room with a kids room with bunk beds and trundle! There’s a curtain in the kids room that can separate it from the king bedroom which has a nice TV and small fridge. The bathroom was well stocked with all our personal needed items and lots of towels. The bottom line is you can stay at this resort for literally half the price of the main hotel.. it’s just a matter of preference. But to be honest, if I hadn’t gone to the Beach retreat I probably wouldn’t have gone back to Legoland. We were so impressed that we traded up the 2 day pass for a yearly pass for $ 10.00 more per person and plan on going back to the beach retreat for each trip!

"Not worth the money"

We were first time visitors to both the Beach Retreat and Legoland. I have to say on both points, it was very disappointing. There is absolutely no curb appeal to this place. It is in desperate need of landscaping. The actual bungalow itself is cutely themed and clean, but very small. The playground is a let down and needs so shade. As for the pool, there is a lot of sand at the bottom due to the “beach” sand around the pool entry. It felt dirty to me. The restaurant was ok. Had to wait a while for a table at dinner since apparently you need a reservation. Which no one informed us of. Food is ok. Overall, it was not worth the price tag. I’ll stick to Disney for that kind of money.
