"Nice Hotel - but missing some basics"
October 2018
First of all - This hotel was sold out on every other website and direct, so a BIG thanks for Reserve Orlando. The good: friendly staff, cute themeing, good free breakfast, includes premium parking for the park. The bad: the pool closes in the middle of the day 12-4pm and no daily housekeeping service with minimum stays. We would stay again when we visit Legoland because the price was a good value.

Tip: The conveniences of a hotel are lacking a bit at the beach retreat, but it was nothing that affected our trip in a negative way.

The cabins were very cute and perfect for our stay, though a little smaller than expected. It would have been nice to have a little table or something in the room for dining in. The beds were comfortable though and the place was clean. I loved that there was a little playground right outside our door and it was quiet at night. I thought breakfast ran smoothly and the food was pretty good, typical hotel fare. The playground by the pool was fun for my children, ages 10 & 7. We did not use the pool because it was very crowded and smaller than we expected but it was nice and those swimming did look like they were having fun. Overall I am glad we stayed here. The kids enjoyed it and it was so easy to get to and from the park.

Check in was easy and room was clean. Couple of things I did have issues with. The free shuttle does not run from 1pm-4pm, which is odd. Breakfast was good, kids loved it, I played a little game every morning trying to find the decaf coffee, one day it’s will all the drinks, another day it’s over by the bar, not sure what that’s about. My other issue is more of a suggestion, no shower mat in the shower, a little slippery. Overall had a nice time, staff we interacted with were excellent, at breakfast in the morning, check in and the life guards.

Registration was a breeze, the beach house was cute! My son loved the bunk beds and separate room. Floors were nice. Tv had Lego movies on it and all tv channels you could want. King bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Playground outside beach house was nice. Breakfast at the lighthouse was sooooo good! Pool water was clean and warm. Kids enjoyed the sand area and big playground. Super close to Legoland. Nice lake view from our room. Lego duplos for kids to play with in room was nice. Great stay.

My sister heard us talk about our experience that we brought her and her family this last trip. The kids love Legoland because it's a fun park with great rides, food, and shows. The little ones loved the Flying School which they rode 5x. The older ones loved ninjago and the great Lego race. The wait times for each ride was not long. Two of the best shows that we all liked were Pirates Cove and 4D Theater. We loved staying at the Beach Retreat because the customer service was outstanding both times. You don't want to miss out.

"Cute but that’s about it"

We bought a 3-night package ($1232) for 2 adults and 3 kids that included 2 days entry to the Theme Park (but not the Water Park; we learned that was an additional $25 per person per day). The colorful bungalows are cute (Seagull’s Cove is convenient to pool and restaurant). The themed décor in the rooms is cute. The pool area with floating Legos and s’mores pit is cute. The Lighthouse is cute. Once you get past cute, there’s not much substance. The included breakfast buffet is barely passable. The pool doesn’t open until 11 am, which coincidentally is the same time as check-out. By days end, the pool water appeared less than pristine. If it’s raining, there’s absolutely nothing else to do except stay in the room. Cute? Yes. Value? No. Before booking, look at all the lodging/park options and run the numbers to see what’s best for your family. And remember, Legoland appeals to the younger set, advertised for ages 2-12.
