My family and I stayed here for Bayou Classic Weekend. The hotel has elegant decor throughout the lobby and rooms. The hotel is within walking distance to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, as well as Bourbon and Canal Streets. It’s also right on the Bayou Classic Parade route so all you have to do is step outside to see the parade. If you prefer not to valet park for $44 per night, convenient parking is a block away for $20 per night. There was one small service snafu when calling down for ice (no ice machines); the attendant forgot my request so I ended up going downstairs to get a bag of ice myself. The ice, however, is located in a small convenience store area for guests to retrieve themselves. Overall, the stay was good and the hotel was nice. I’d likely stay here again.

Here's the email I wrote to Le Pavillon after our stay. They still have not answered. Hello, I wanted to write an email to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Le Pavillon in New Orleans from 11/13-11/16. It began when I went to check in around 9:00am and I was informed of a $50 'early check-in fee' for anyone who attempts to check-in before 3:00pm. I was moving over to Le Pavillon from the Marriott as I was there for a work conference and was not aware of this fee. I even searched the website and my confirmation emails and there is no mention of such a fee. Upon check-out, I spoke to ------ at the front desk and asked about the fee and where I can find details about it. He said I can't - it's an internal policy. I'm floored that a hotel would have hidden fees for patrons of their hotel. Once I checked in, I gave the woman working at the front desk (who's name I didn't catch) my phone number and she confirmed we would be called once the room is ready. My boyfriend and I wandered around the city for approximately 4 hours and were tired so we returned to the hotel to wait for our room. It was about 1:30pm and I approached the front desk to ask about the status of our room. ------- said the room was ready and handed us the room key. We never received a call to tell us our room was ready. After making our way to room 524, we immediately realized this room was not the same as the photo of a 'deluxe king'. The room was incredibly small - there was no space for a chair and seating area like that featured on the website. On top of the size of the room we continually ran into issues: almost everything was dusty; the cabinet that held our fridge could not be opened all the way without hitting the bed; the fridge had to be shimmied to be opened because the door could not open all the way; almost all of the electronics in the room were unplugged so we had to reach behind the furniture to plug them in; the sheets were stained; there was no stopper in the sink; the ceiling in the shower was frayed and peeling; the bathroom was dirty and there was hair on the floor and attached to the door; there were no batteries in the clock in the room; I requested additional blankets and it took over an hour for them to arrive and the one was sticky and smelled awful; our last full day at the hotel we didn't receive housekeeping; almost every TV channel had something wrong (some were randomly in Spanish, others closed captioned, others with audio assist, and all of them were cut off so the whole picture wouldn't show); and most of all - almost every person at the front desk had an awful attitude. When checking out, ------ asked how our stay was and I told him that it was just ok and there were a lot of snags. He cut me off and said he was happy we had a great time and handed me the folio. I was so upset that this was our experience because the lobby, history and location of the hotel are all great. Unfortunately, after this I would not recommend Le Pavillon nor would I stay here again.

I have been staying at this hotel for over 15 years and have always been impressed with the historic building, as well as the service. Unfortunately, after the change in management a couple of years ago, it became evident that customer service was no longer a priority. I read several reviews from earlier this year and see the same issues, so I know management is not truly concerned. I will likely not be choosing to stay at this hotel again. There are definitely newer and more comparable properties in a 3 mile radius. Pros: - free PB&J sandwiches w/ hot cocoa every night in the lobby - location ( walking distance to Superdome as well as French Quarters) - historical look with modern feel Cons: - water never got more than lukewarm, even after maintenance allegedly “reset boilers” - phone and thermostat in room did not work, requiring transfer to another room (with no hot water) - no more breakfast buffet and limited food options in the hotel - front desk rarely answers the phone - no follow up for reported maintenance issues

Great place to stay for Saints games at the Superdome! Only a 10 minute walk with scores of fans joining in the journey. Adds to atmosphere and excitement of game day. Love the PB&J sandwiches at nighttime :-)

THE ROOM: Clean & comfy. We booked a two double-bed room and is happy with that. SERVICE: Front Desk staffs were generally helpful and friendly. LOCATION: Good enough for us, as we were on business trip, needed an inexpensive hotel within walking distance to Hyatt Regency where we attended the conference there for few days. FOOD & DRINKS - Lacking in food choices at night though, within walking distance mostly serves pizza and bars. And we were not able to find grocer or deli at night but the hotel do sell snacks. - The room doesn’t come with complementary drinking water. Perhaps its their attempt to reduce 1-time use plastic. So do bring an empty bottle and you can fill up ice water for free at the lobby. - Coffee, tea, ice water are free at the lobby area, all day & night long. - They serve peanut butter & jelly bread with coffee & tea at 10pm every night, for free. OVERALL For the price we paid, the hotel exceeds our expectation.
